From your link:

A second report, also unsealed by the judge, was authored by national security nonprofit MITRE. That group argued the hacks identified by Halderman were “operationally infeasible” based on normal voting practices, scale considerations, and adherence to strict security measures.

It’s a view shared by Georgia officials, who included the MITRE report in a press release that criticized Halderman's report.

Mike Hassinger, a spokesman for Raffensperger's office, said that responding to this report all day felt like he was "stuck in a Dumb and Dumber paradox," referencing a character's response to a one in a million likelihood: "So, you're telling me there's a chance?"

And already, it's being declared a bombshell by those who sought to overturn the results of the 2020 election, despite no evidence of any actual hacking in that contest.

Steve Bannon, a former Trump strategist, spoke about Halderman's report with several guests on his "War Room" show, including Garland Favorito, an activist who runs an election integrity group in Georgia.
BBM. That second report written by MITRE was paid for by Dominion. Of course, they are going to say the system was safe. Of course, Raffensperger's office is going to support it because his office purchased the Dominion system for $107 million of taxpayer money ahead of the 2020 election.

My family in the Atlanta area includes several Republicans and they think Raffensperger is just another corrupt Atlanta politician.

Fox settled. A settlement isn't a win. It also took place before the cyber security expert's 2018 evaluation was unsealed earlier this summer.

Halderman's evaluation was specific to the Georgia federal lawsuit but if the systems are all the same, I would hope that all states that use Dominion should be very concerned.

Further note : So per Halderman, the software is vulnerable - imo so it’s worth the discussion at the Georgia state level which they seem to be having with the lawsuit
“The Halderman report was the result of a computer scientist having complete access to the Dominion equipment and software for three months in a laboratory environment. It identified risks that are theoretical and imaginary. Our security measures are real and mitigate all of them," Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger wrote in a letter to state lawmakers, which Raffensperger's office shared with NBC News.”
- For purposes of this thread and the arrests imo this lawsuit would seem to have no bearing
“There is no evidence that hackers have attempted to exploit any of the identified vulnerabilities, or that any such hack has occurred in previous elections”
All imo

Those who may potentially end up in Fulton County Jail if convicted will not be going to a nice place...

Don't want to go too OT in this thread but did want to post a link to a story from today and a separate thread here:

Fyi, there is a separate thread on here for Lashawn Thompson, who died a horrific death there in April. Since then, there have been multiple other deaths at the jail.

Well This is an eye opener ! Looks like this something else Georgia’s needs to have a discussion about. If you get arrested for shop lifting and end up dead in a medical unit in jail a mere day or so later - that’s unspeakable. Imo

They are under investigation (July 13, 2023):

As I understand it, the indicted people need to show up at the jail. Then what? They are booked and then the jail can release them on bond?

Just wondering how the process works (if anyone knows).

<modsnip> What matters is that Raffensperger did not bow to Trumps pressure to “find” him one more vote than he needed. The request by Trump was corrupt and Willis was right to open an investigation. She would have been corrupt if she had turned a blind eye to Trump’s actions. The facts laid out in the grand jury’s charges speak for themselves and the court will decide whether the defendants are guilty.

Most, if not all, of those indicted in this particular case probably have their attorneys discussing bond options with the DA. If bond is approved ahead of time, the process moves faster. Turn yourself in, go through mug shots, fingerprinting, etc... bond out, and you're done. Normally, it can take hours, especially with a jail and county that big. Since the sheriff is having to work with Secret Service and such, it will probably be a faster process, at least for Trump. Most defendants that can't bond out end up waiting in a cell until they can see the judge, which can take days sometimes.
At least I think that's how it works - don't quote me on this lol.
This whole situation is unprecedented, so it's interesting to see how Fulton County handles it.

The software is vulnerable, but Raffensperger is refusing to implement the necessary protections prior to the 2024 election.

In my opinion, the Curling lawsuit absolutely has bearing on this thread. An election worker in Coffee County who was just indicted was concerned the system had been hacked in the 2021 election and she did report it and was ignored. She was subpoenaed to testify in the Curling lawsuit which is at the federal level. It shocks me that she has been indicted for trying to do her job.

We'll agree to disagree.

I have no idea how it is supposed to work. I've never heard of someone going to a jail to be booked. Maybe an attorney can weigh in. Sorry.

Thank you, and thanks to @vls12345 for their link.

I was wondering if any of them might be waiting in jail to see a judge for a bond decision. (Of course, not DT who will have high priced lawyers negotiate his immediate release.)

Maybe the PAC will pay for lawyers for all of them.

Will Mr Trump be photographed and fingerprinted ?

If so will this be the first time he's had to go through the process.

Oh and will his booking photo be released to the media ?

The software is also used successfully throughout Canada. I have read quite a lot about it. It is actually quite a ‘tried and true’ system, despite the conspiracy theories. imo

I find it an awful shame that a reputable company has been trashed just because DT lost the election.

How does this all work with his Secret Service detail?

Sheriff Labat said that the mugshot is waiting for DJT at the jail lol.
No special treatment according to him.
Rudy's mugshot is going to be... well, it's going to be Rudy.

Found this page which explains it very well. In Georgia, booking indicted persons at the county jail is normal.

That's something they've been trying to coordinate, apparently. They started setting things up outside the jail earlier this week from what I've read, including a press area.
