Do we know if some are supposed to arrive today? Or is this just general prep in case someone does show up?

Will Hurd is interesting. What other Republican nominee is there? Desantis?

I appreciate your honesty. I agree strongly that our loyalty should be to our countryFormer hard core Republican here. Was a member of my university's College Republicans. Campaigned for Republican candidates all four years. I stopped being a Republican the day Trump won the 2016 nomination because the GOP stopped being my father's GOP. I like to call it "Political Hypocrisy 101". Suddenly everything Republican politicians would blast their Democratic counterparts for they defended in Trump.
In 2008, Republicans (rightfully, in my opinion), slammed the cult-like following voters had regarding Obama. What's occurred with the slavish adoration of Trump has far surpassed that.
The "First Amendment defense" on his crimes is a joke. It's been well established he knew the truth.
And, for the record, if Biden is found guilty of committing any crimes, I fully support his indictment because my loyalty remains with the republic (if we can keep it) and not a man.
This sounds like a crime to me IMOTrump didn't ask anyone to commit a crime. He truly believed election fraud had been committed in multiple states and members of my own family who voted for him believed it.
Georgia has charged Trump and other defendants for tweets and phone calls asking for phone numbers and for tweets that encouraged his supporters to watch election hearings being televised. Last I checked, Freedom of Speech is still a protected right.
The GA Indictment is one of the most laughably absurd documents I've ever read. The fact that Trump's indictment was published prior to the Grand Jury even voting just proves how low the DA is willing to go.

CRIMINAL INDICTMENT

If it was a crime, why didn't Raffensperger have Trump arrested nearly 3 years ago when Trump asked him to investigate? This sounds like a crime to me IMO
Trump asked Raffensperger to "find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won this state."
Because "have the President of the US arrested" is not the same as calling the cops to report a burglary? If it was a crime, why didn't Raffensperger have Trump arrested nearly 3 years ago when Trump asked him to investigate?

And Trump destroys people who defy him. Let's not underestimate the fear factor. imoBecause "have the President of the US arrested" is not the same as calling the cops to report a burglary?
I mean, why not ask the same question of Pence, who seemed to want to keep Trump (and himself) in office if he had a legal way to do so, but did enough research to know he couldn't legally do what Trump had asked about pausing/interrupting/whatever the electoral vote count on 1/6. Once he knew it was illegal and he was going to decline to participate, why didn't HE "have the president arrested?"
Or anyone else in DJT's orbit who saw him do stuff they knew to be illegal. Why didn't they act? Partly because they follow him blindly. Partly because they are (possibly, presumably not everyone) equally open to cheating for their own benefit?
Maybe also because Trump built his whole empire on breaking rules and then telling people they approved, and for the same inexplicable reason, people responded positively to his strategy.
Telling people he could shoot someone on the street and not lose voters wasn't a brag about his popularity, it was an *instruction* to people, which they followed, as if hypnotized!![]()

Trying to move quickly, but realistically I don't see it happening in March. Late summer at the very earliest, because there are going to be a million delays and requests to continue, LOA requests, etc...@jimsciutto
Breaking: Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has asked a judge to set a trial date of March 4, 2024, for former President Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants.
@bluestein
Willis’ proposed schedule also requests arraignments for Trump and his allies the week of Sept. 5. She hasn’t changed her Aug. 25 deadline for them to surrender at the Fulton County Jail.
And this is how people get hurt and killed.“These jurors have signed their death warrant by falsely indicting President Trump," read one post on a pro-Trump forum in response to a post including the names of jurors, which was viewed by NBC News.

Trump supporters post names and addresses of Georgia grand jurors online

So true. People defending the "perfect phone call" know far more than an educated, experienced DA prosecuting a high-profile case that the whole world is watching. Oops, she flubbed up. I guess she should've read comment sections on the internet to learn something. If it wasn't a crime, there wouldn't be an indictment! It's literally one of the overt acts.
It is ridiculous to keep debating this. He has been charged for making that phone call (Solicitation of Violation of Oath By A Public Officer) because it is an overt act IN FURTHERANCE of a conspiracy (Page 48, Act 112) - also known as a crime.
Read ‘the MOST DANGEROUS MAN by his niece Mary Trump. She warned us! No one listened. MOOAnd Trump destroys people who defy him. Let's not underestimate the fear factor. imo
