GA GA - Jane, 45, Isabela, 19, & Anabelle Kuria, 16, Powder Springs, 1 Aug 2007

Kuria is a Kenyan surname. From what I have observed, people from other countries often have multiple generations living in the same home. I wonder if Jane could be Alice's mom or aunt.

About 9 years ago, my family lived in an apartment. There was me, Hubby and my then 7 yr old twins. Hubby worked overnights at the time so we were usually alone at night. I never really had a problem or worries, we knew the lady across the hallway and the guy who lived on the floor below us. One night, I got a phone call at 11:00 from the maintenance man (I answered the phone cos our caller id said the Apartment complex’s name). He said that our AC was leaking down to the apartment below us and he needed to come in and see what was going on. I told him, No, he did not, he could come back in the morning at a decent time when my hubby was home. He said no, he needed to come now to fix the leak. We went back and forth for about 5 minutes and finally I told him that if he decided to come to my house, he would be met by Gwinnett County Police because I was about to call them and tell them that he was harassing me. He finally said Ok, and hung up the phone. I called hubby, who told me to call the leasing office and leave a voice mail about what had just happened. I did and went to sleep, but only after Hubby came home. The next day, I walked down to the bottom floor and spoke with the guy who supposedly called in a leak. He said No, there was no leak and that he hadn’t called anyone. Well, we didn’t hear anything from the leasing office about my voice mail. About 2 weeks later, coming home from work, there were police all over the entrance to our apartment complex. Apparently there was a murder. Come to find out, the maintenance guy (who had keys to all of our apartments, and was the same one who called me that night) had strangled another tenant as she came home and caught him in the midst of stealing stuff from her apartment. This guy never had a background check done on him at all. I have a friend in the GCPD and he said the guy had a rap sheet including rape, vandalism, and armed robbery.

So, needless to say, there is always a loaded gun in our house now. I really hate that we as a society have to arm ourselves to feel safe. My prayers go out to the family of these women.

Interesting...The date on this is Feb. 23, 2002

OMG!!!! THIS IS CRAZY! I know it never ends, but it just gets worse and scarier and the stories grow closer together...
How sad!!!! I'm sure it will be all over my local news tonight. Scary.

The other day when I worked from home, somebody came up to the door, didn't knock or ring the bell. I knew someone was there because my dogs were going nuts. Luckily, I was already downstairs and he didn't see me because my door has a transom window above it and he would have seen me come down. My side windows of the door are frosted, I snuck around the door so I could get to it and looked out the peep and there was a guy standing there, shaved head, mid 30's looking, white T looking sideways each way and my dogs were barking like crazy shoving my window shades in the dining room to look out. I went to the FLR and looked out slightly and saw no car in the street and came back to the door, still he had not knocked or rung and you cannot see that there is a car in my garage, but when I went back to the door and looked through he was not there. I went to the DR and peeked and he was backing out FAST of my driveway and drove away kinda fast for a neighborhood in an early 80's chevy silverado. It was brown and beige two toned. I called my hubs to see if he knew anyone that drove one, nope. I was and still am bothered by it and let some neighbors know because I think he might have been scoping my house and the (multiple)dogs deeeeep barking and the ADT sign might have detered him...but I'm still freaked.

Hi Catsmeow, you should tell police just in case this guy is wanted for something, and most likely he is scoping out other peoples' homes as well.

3 found dead in Powder Springs home

By YOLANDA RODRIGUEZ, TOM OPDYKE

Published on: 08/01/07

POWDER SPRINGS — Three women were found dead and two boys beaten unconscious Wednesday morning at a home in the Country Cove subdivision in Powder Springs.

<<snip>>

Mason said Kuria was a nurse and that she had two daughters and a son. She said the children were: Isabella, who was about 19 and attended college, Annabell or Wambui, a McEachern High School sophomore; and Jeremy, 7.

"Jeremy is my son's best friend," said Mason, whose son, Miles, is 6.

She said Kuria told her the family had moved from Africa after Kuria's husband died.

Elizabeth David, who worked with Kuria, said she was a nurse assistant at Wellstar Paulding Hospital and that the family had moved from Keyna after Kuria's husband died.

From the article, it appears one of the boys wasn't a family member. Probably a friend who spent the night. :(

Another horrifying case of a senseless multiple murder.

Any word on who the suspect is? Quite a personal crime, it had to be someone who knew the victims i would guess..
My prayers to the family and for the surviving boys.

My sister noticed an interesting comment on a blog (perhaps 11alive.com - I'll try and look). A neighbor stated that the male child asked would she take care of him if his mother died. This conversation alledgedly took place 2 days prior. We found that to be really odd.

Additionally, I was told she was a nurse at Well-Star Paulding and that she was 47 and named Jane. My sister also saw the comment about "Alice" not showing up at work on Tuesday. However, we read that she worked several jobs ... I wonder if she used another name. Also, if "she" didn't show up at work Tuesday ... didn't ANYONE go and check on her ??

(I have told each of my co-wokers if I don't show up for work and you don't get a phone call, you best come look for me).

It is my understanding they moved here from Kenya after her husband died.

I am curious to see the "relationship" of the other juvenile boy. Was he a relative ? What relative found them ? Alice, perhaps ? Or perhaps the Jane W ? is her middle name, maybe it is Alice ? Very strange.

I agree, it's sounds VERY personal. They mentioned blunt force trauma on the females and did state they were all beaten. Hopefully the boys can shed some light on what happened.

Ok, this is really freaky. I googled Jane Kurai (which is the wrong spelling I now see) ... but I came across an example of a fraud/scam email from a widow. http://www.joewein.net/419/emails/2005-06/22/236008.49.htm

From: "jane kurai" <[email protected]>
Date: Wed, 22 Jun 2005 14:43:01 +0200
Subject: INVESTMENT PURPOSE (WIDOW'S CRY)

FROM: MRS JANE KURAI

ATTN: PLEASE,

Greetings, With due respect, trust, humility, I use this medium to write
this letter to you irrespective of the fact that you do not know me but
please do consider this letter as a request from a widow in dare need of
assistance.

Let me formerly introduce myself; I am MRS JANE KURAI, wife of late Sir
ARNOLD KURAI, the renowned Zimbabwean Wine and Cattle Ranch farmer.
I am sure it has no relevance, but it is kind of freaky knowing she was a widow.

If that is the same person and she married this Larry Davis, has anyone come across on Obit on him ? I am curious as to when her husband passed away and what happened ?

I remember reading once (it's been awhile) about a leader of a country in Africa - anyway, he died. Different women began surfacing claiming to be the "real" widow of said leader. It was major news coverage at the time.

I found a picture of the youngest daughter (Annabelle (?)) on myspace that one of her friends had posted. She was a beautiful young lady.

I am thinking thats a common name.

I figured it was just random that I found that article.
I had looked on myspace and facebook.

I am only 30 minutes from here and my cousin works for Wellstar Cobb.

I just read the blog on 11alive.com and someone does call her Alice -

May they rest in Peace
Alice was a very hard working woman. She worked two jobs to provide for her kids!!
She was just at work monday but didn't show up tuesday for work so we knew instantly something was wrong, but never imagined this. This is heartbreaking we have got to stop killing each other.

Then here is the other comment:
Back to the original topic - one poster on paulding said that the 8 year old had asked a neighbor a few days ago if she would "keep him" if his mother died (?). That's very odd that a child would ask that and days later the family and mother are killed. This really does sound like there was some sort of a domestic thing going on (boyfriend?) and the child had already seen some problems that made him fearful of his mother's life.

I am going to the other site now ....
