Pulling this up from the summer...but I wanted to update.

No, no arrests have been made, and sadly, this case seems to have completely dropped off the radar. I wish it weren't so. But I wanted to update for those who were interested.

Saturday my Husband and I were invited to Jeremy's 8th birthday party. Jeremy is doing so amazingly well! And he had a wonderful birthday. He attends rehab and has had a long road to healing with much still ahead, but he is such a determined little boy!

He recognized me and my husband right away, and came up and gave me a GIANT HUG! When a couple of his little friends asked him who I was, he said proudly, "That's MY neighbor!"

Tabby,

I haven't posted on this thread because most everything I could think of to say has been said, but I want you to know that you are a wonderful person. Thank you so much for the updates, especially the good ones telling us that Jeremy and the other little guy are doing fine. Your post brought tears to my eyes when I read that he hugged you and called you his neighbor. What a brave little boy. I pray his years ahead of him are better, along with his little cousin who was also hurt. God bless you and bless that whole family. It's such a tragedy that a whole family can be murdered like that and the murderer can't be found. I pray that one day justice will be done for this family. :(

Still thinking of Jeremy - he will never be forgotten, nor will his family. I am still sadden to learn of nothing new in this case. Tabby, please know I have not forgotten.

Nor I. Thanks for bumping this up, Edwards.

Me either Tabby. I haven't forgotten. It is horrible that this can happen in the USA and and the perpetrators are still walking free.

Me too Tabby! I hold my breath everytime I see this thread back at the top - always with hope that an arrest has been made. Has LE not given any updates to the community at all? What about the people in her church?

Atlanta is not keen on investigative reporting. Nothing is mentioned until an arrest is made in a case. The ajc is similar to GBI but it is heartbreaking for families and for people trying to get updates. I wish this wasn't a one horse town where only one newspaper reports. But that is what we have dealt with for 30 years.

Thanks Tabs. Please keep us updated.

I had an oblique encounter with the GBI when in ATL, and they were impressive to me. Let's hope they still hew to the same standards.

This is the sort of case that make me wish LE knew that WE, i.e the public at large, NEEDS information. To simply let the case die out is not an option in today's world. WE will never forget, and WE want justice for this wonderful mother and ther daughters. Why have we heard nothing new? At least, and acknowledgement that it is still being investigated!!! :banghead:

It is a terrible situation with the Atlanta Constitution. We rely on other media news for anything but typically there is no news on ongoing crimes until there is an arrest. I don't think there is an investigative reporter in the whole metro area. A lot of crime but nothing other than blips on the news. Not a coverup but not considered important.I wish I could change that.

One would think in an area as large as Atlanta there would be someone interested in being an investigative reporter. I bet there is someone who fancies theirselves to be just that. Wish I knew who it was, so I could bug the heck out of them to bug the heck out of LE.

It is truly pathetic. In a city this size to have only one paper and a truly crappy and biased one at that...

You could find a couple of really good investigative reporters, but the AJC would never hire them.

I just read up on this today. How horrible - and still NO arrests have been made? We've got quite a few posters here from GA - maybe we need to light a fire under LE and media.

Yesterday I noticed that a screen was off the back of the house, up on the deck where it was on before, so I called LE to come and check it out.

A patrol car came about 20 minutes later. He drove up and got out of his car. I saw him as he looked into the garage, and then I walked over to speak with him, as I told the dispatcher I would when he arrived. I walked up in the driveway while he was standing by the closed garage doors, peeking in. I said, “Excuse me, Sir, I was the one who called.”

He said, “M’am, someone lives here.”

I said, “Uhhhm. No. No one has lived there in over a month.”

He said, “Well, there’s a car in the garage and one in the driveway. It appears someone lives here.”

For a moment, I was completely speechless. Then I said, “Did you know this is the home where a whole family was killed just a few weeks ago? NO ONE LIVES THERE AND NO ONE HAS FOR SEVERAL WEEKS.”

Tabby - did you ever find out whose cars were parked there? That seems really strange.

I'm glad the boys seem to be doing well, and hope they continue to do so.

Powder Springs Triple Murder Remains Unsolved

Detectives from Cobb County and Powder Springs have continued to investigate the murders, but none of the leads have produced a suspect.

Police said they have no motive, no weapon and the house where the victims died was virtually undisturbed with no sign of forced entry.

Two young boys, Kuria's son and nephew, survived the attack and continue to recover. Kuria's nephew has moved back to Kenya.
