Do we have any dAtes of when he lived in the other places? Did anyone else hear on JVM something about the family moving to 'escape problems' LE something to that effect?

That moving to escape problems stuff did come from JVM - it was supposed to be that "back story" that the brother was gonna tell. Nope. Never got any of it. He had only lived in that complex for a month - IIRC from his fb page - he moved Nov. 5.

Interesting that the brother said he hasn't talked to him for about 2 months now - so............................where we he before he moved to that complex? Or was the brother somewhere else?

They don't talk for 2 months - but, now, all of a sudden the brother is talking to him and defending him and all.

Curiouser and curiouser.......................

Did he also say that RB had a child?

I think the brother said HE had a 1-yr. old child, RB was "good" with the child...

BBM...

Logically I agree that this is likely true. Obviously, he had some kind of murder fantasies that he acted upon -- it is not as if he woke up one day last week and said, “I’m up for a change of pace, I think I’ll try murder!”

The question in my mind, and likely everyone's mind, is what inspired this. He might have had kiddie 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on his computer, but it seems to me that blaming this on kiddie 🤬🤬🤬🤬 is as intellectually lazy as blaming a conventional adult rape or murder on adult 🤬🤬🤬🤬, or video games, or rock music. It is at best a symptom. At best.

Ultimately though, and I say this as someone who spent several years working intimately with some of the most dangerous psychopaths and serial killers in the western united states, I am not sure that it matters. Some people are just bad -- and I am aware of the irony of saying something that intellectually lazy myself after being critical above. Hypocrisy, thy name is Chris.

I think you took some latitude with my post? If you were merely using it as a jumping off point, that's ok.

He might well have dropped out of sight while he tried to wrap his brain around the idea that his roomate was a dangerous murdering psychopath. And his dropping out of sight might have been nothing more than hiding and talking to the police.

Oh I get the why and woulda, I'm just wondering if he felt something was up and left before LE started looking at him seriously.

I think, if I have it right, there are TWO brothers that have been talking. One is 20 yrs old, like the perp, and ons is older. And the older brother is the one that has not seen him for 2 months, I believe. Correct me if I am wrong, ya'a'll.

And a sick possibility is the community will hold them to their contracts. If they use local apartment association leases, the current residents could be stuck like chuck. The only way to be released from those lengthy contract is a military change of orders. I've seen a manager try to hold a young woman to her contract after her boyfriend was killed in an accident on her second day of residency. The manager was going to make her pay 12 months rent, and could, by law do so - but I overruled her and let the girl out with 60 days notice and two months rent... it was the best I could do without putting my own job in jeopardy.

These companies are a business and are in it for the money - they don't see human beings. The mother will sue though, and she will win and her lawsuit will set a precedent and change some aspect of the way my company does business in the future.

I hope and pray he hit her squarely on her little head and killed her before she had a clue as to what was going to happen.

You're right!!! I forgot about that. We had the same thing at that complex we were at. But, that just adds to my comment about all the lawsuite. I do believe that at the very least the residents of bldg. 9 bldg. 10 and bldg 12 will have a strong legal stance to get out of those contracts - they'll need an attorney to do it - but they'll win. And, I'm willing to go even further and say that any resident with a child will also have a legal standing as to being held harmless for their contract.

The mother - that's a whole different ball game - and that one will be the biggest by far.

If they are "smart" - they'll let anyone out that wants out. Of course all security deposits will be forfeitted.

It would be easier if this had just been some creep that took advantage of their complex - but the fact that this guy worked there - nope. HUGE liability.

JMHO

Jorely did have a diary that mom said was missing as well as her purse!!!
Maybe she referenced this and THAT is what ties him? Found in the garbage with her perhaps????

Interesting theory. I would assume, however, that the killer would not dispose of a diary containing this information with the body.

But police might well have found it in his apartment.

Chris - you gave me another thought all together. Maybe RB had a "journal" or just some writing on a computer.

But, if ANYTHING or Jorelys was found in RB's apt or car - then YEP, he's done.

"We are confident that Brunn is the killer and that is why he is in custody," Keenan said, declining to detail what evidence investigators have against him.

http://www.star-telegram.com/2011/12/07/3576720/funeral-set-for-ga-girl-who-was.html

GBI Director Keenan would not be confident that RB is the killer unless there is forensic evidence (DNA - i.e. RB's seminal fluid found in the victim's body) that links RB to the rape & murder of little Jorelys.

RB's family members can deny his involvement til the cows come home, but a Judge would not have issued an arrest warrant unless there was compelling evidence that RB is the perp.

I doubt they have DNA and what not back already. But there could well be all sorts of great evidence. Witnesses for example, or perhaps he had some souveneers that belonged to the victim. A neighbor might well have seen him leaving the crime scene and have correctly gone to the police rather than the media, his roomate might have seen him return home wearing bloody clothes.

I was re-reading some articles from today - he's been charged with "suspicion" of murder. I don't think they have DNA yet but I do believe they probably have blood evidence and they can type that pretty quick. I also think they probably have his clothes - with Jorelys blood on them. I'm just wondering about the "suspicion" part - they did say they are confident that they have "their man" - so what's up with the "suspicion" part?

I believe I have heard of it, just don't remember when. But I do live in Ga. Could that be a state thing?:waitasec:

And Owl, you just gave me another thought. It could be that the evidence has is blood of RB or skin cells under Jorelys' fingernails. But they couldn't be sure it was his so soon, so I don't know ...:waitasec:

Oh I get the why and woulda, I'm just wondering if he felt something was up and left before LE started looking at him seriously.

The great news is that in this case, for once, I not only think we will eventually have these answers, but I think justice will be served as well.

I cannot say how happy this makes me. After Caylee's, and baby Lisa, and Celina, and so far little Sky's, every one of their killers literally getting away with murder, it was getting to be a serious bummer. And this case, this innocent little girl brutalized, reminded me yet again how messed up we are as a society in general. How poor a job we really do taking care of one another.

We live in the wealthiest nation on earth, yet this single mom is working the graveyard shift at a meat packing plant, making trash money and no benefits, no healthcare, one paycheck or illness away from ruin. Her beautiful kids are playing alone, not because they aren't loved (you can clearly see that they are) but because that's the world we allow to exist. A world in which profit and bonuses are more important than security cameras. So her kids play alone, surrounded by neighbors who know the names of the fake celebrities on their reality TV programs but don't know or care about the people who live ten feet away.

From the beginning I followed the threads about this case, and I saw too many posts blaming the environment and this reality, not on the society which allows this poverty and indifference and exploitation to exist, but on the victims it creates and feeds on. Princess Jorely's safety, her life, was endangered and ultimately sacrificed so that others, the owner of the factory mom worked at, the owner of this apartment complex, the CEOs of these corporations, could pad their paychecks just a little bit more.

Princess Jorely we all now know, and we are talking about her. We are not talking about the others. Right now, as I am typing this, one out of every four kids in America is going to bed hungry because their parents cannot afford food. Right now, tonight, one MILLION American kids, beautiful little kids just like Jorely, are going to sleep in their cars because they have no home. One million. In America.

I think we can do better. It's our choice. We decide what kind of society we want, what we will accept. Jorely deserved better, every one of those million kids deserves better, every kid going to bed hurting because they are hungry deserves better, and so do their parents.

Anyway, yeah, totally off topic and maybe inappropriate for this forum, but there it is. We talk about crime here, and in my mind this is a mighty big one.

--i think "suspicion of murder" is terminology, until they have the evidence that HE was the one that "caused the death by hitting her over the head with a blunt object".

--once DNA etc. is back---it will be murder, plus rape, sexual assault, unlawful confinement etc....

( as the guy ( GBI Director? ) said when he was being arrested-----he's a sick ******! )

According to a warrant obtained by The Associated Press, Brunn was arrested on suspicion of murder and making false statements to authorities. The arrest warrant says, "the accused did unlawfully and with malice aforethought cause the death of Jorelys Rivera by hitting her on the head with a blunt object." No other details are contained in the document, which was filed Wednesday.

Keenan noted that additional charges were expected from the district attorney's office.

The charges include one count of false statements and one count of murder. His first court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Cherokee County Justice Center in downtown Canton.

Wednesday, the 20-year-old from Dahlonega was in a Cherokee County jail cell, accused of gagging, binding, raping, beating and stabbing Jorelys before tossing her body into an industrial trash compactor at the apartment complex where they both lived. Brunn had moved to the River Ridge complex in November, boasting on Facebook that he would live there free in return for doing maintenance work.

Jorelys' body was found Monday. She had been missing since about 5 p.m. Friday, last seen on a playground in the complex. Investigators say Brunn killed her in a vacant apartment in the building next to her mother's building. Her mouth was duct-taped, her hands and feet bound with plastic ties, and her body had been compacted by the mechanical dumpster only operable by maintenance staff.

That same night, Brunn coolly joined in the search for the missing girl, helping to distribute fliers bearing her picture, other residents told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

---no wonder GBI Director Keenan told us the other day that there were other things done to her ( besides sexual assault/stabbing/murder ) that he wasn't going to get into ...

I am really wanting to know where his roommate is, and where he was that Friday.

“They’re making my brother seem like he’s a monster,” Steven Brunn said. “My brother is kind-hearted. He’ll give to you if he’s got it. He’s great with kids. And there’s never been any signs of violence.

“The whole thing doesn’t seem possible. It’s not his nature. He’s not a violent person,” the 26-year-old brother said. “The only thing we can do is just hope and pray and cross our fingers that this ain’t true. If it is, there are no words to say. He’s a done deal

E.J. Young, who met Brunn while playing basketball at the Dahlonega Y.M.C.A. some years ago, said he was shocked by the arrest. Young said Brunn was homeschooled by his mother and also went to what he called “a Christian school.” A 2006 team roster from War Hill Christian Academy in Dawsonville lists Brunn as a member of the school's football team.

Young said Brunn also moved to Virginia for a while to live with family and came back.

“I used to hang out at his house," said Young. “He always seemed kind of weird ... He always seemed like he had a lot in his head but didn’t want to talk about it."
