Well, the duct tape and plastic ties explain why LE has kept saying "calculated and planned". I really really really really hope his fingerprints are on that duct tape! But I kinda think they are.

Do we know anything more about the little boy who went missing for a couple of hours? I wonder if his disappearance was a practice run for RB... to gauge the response from residents and law enforcement, or just for kicks.:furious:

imo
I wondered the exact same thing!

Are any of you that are local, going to the candle light vigil Friday night? I will be going, and hopefully DH can make it, too.

I am planning to go with my two daughters. There is also a public thing at the Darby Funeral home Friday night as well at a public funeral Sat afternoon.

Sorry for the OT but is something big going on at the moment or is it just my computer? I seem to be in really really really slow motion this morning on this website.

How do these SICKOS ever think they will get away with things like this??

I think some of them know they will be caught, they just want to fill their last fantasy beforhand.

Me too. When I read that she had duct tape over her mouth, I thought it would be really hard to work with duct tape with gloves on.

I think fingerprints are many places (that tie him to the body and the crime scene) and that's the forensics they got back so quickly that makes them so confident.

Fingerprints on tape, tying him to the body, possibly the ties around her wrists and ankles ... the bag he put her in? And gosh, her hair was so long and is districtively curly. If they found even one strand anywhere in his apartment (transferred into his apartment by him), even if they don't have the DNA back on the strand, it would still be pretty telling.

I am thinking about Jorelys this morning and other missing children. The additional information really struck me and sucked the wind out of my lungs. Bound, gagged.

I had hoped that she did not feel anything and that he basically hurt her more after her death. :( I know it is unrealistic, but I had hoped.

One thing that struck me and made me sad is when the police said how difficult it was for them to find her body in that dumpster. (wow, that is still hard to type) Think of the many missing children that LE have thought MAY be in the landfills. If they had to search very carefully in a dumpster, think how difficult it is in a landfill with much, much more garbage. And, with a few of the cases lately, we do not even know the EXACT time that the children went missing. Poor little Sky, Jahessye, and now Bianca. When is this madness going to stop?! I cannot even begin to imagine throwing a baby away.

:sigh:  :sigh:  :sigh:

Whatever "pathetic excuses" are going to be claimed, (temp. insanity?) it won't be good enough to explain the deliberate torture he inflicted on Jorelys. This monster won't be free to play out his fantasies again. Was he bored, looking for a thrill, whatever. He has no soul, must be a disease that is becoming more prevalent. Why must we provide humane food, shelter, protection, and legal representation to this non-human entity. Such a waste. We should offer the condemned a choice of two doors: one that is crawling with poisonous snakes, and the other would depend on what might be his worst nightmare. Pick one.

I say this with respect and complete understanding of the emotions behind the question. Anyone looking at a case like this one finds it is EASY to feel that this person or that one deserves terror and torture and perhaps even death. I understand. I also know this:

As humans and as a society we are not diminished by our compassion. When we can look upon our worst, our most deserving, and treat them with kindness, we are demonstrating that we believe such behavior is always wrong, that there can be no justification for it. It is this difference that defines and elevates us.

Anyone found if his court appearance is going to be streamed anywhere? IIRC its scheduled for 1:30 PM today.

I had thought 1:45 but now I'm not sure. I'll look right now. :seeya:

Yep Magdalyn. Plus his clothes. We haven't heard word one about those - but maybe that's because they already have them - they were at his apt for a long time and its still sealed and under guard as well. He had to have been a mess.

I'm still trying to sort this one out. First time crime - or just first time caught? He was awfully sloppy for it to not have been his first rodeo - especially since he was never caught. But, this was just so heinous - hard to believe it was his first - if it was, well its a darn good thing he was caught - this guy is a monster.

Still haven't found anywhere that will be streaming his court appearance.

The neighbor named Heather said on HLN that the little boy was found safe at his friends house. So I don't think this guy had anything to do with it. But it seems like it did give him some ideas.

I think it was his first major crime. He is only 20 and just moved out on his own a month ago. So I can believe it was his first assault/murder. But I bet he has been fantasizing about it for a long while. And he probably broke other laws, like child 🤬🤬🤬🤬, drugs, etc, to fuel his fantasy life.

Still looking for the hearing, but for those asking about the custody hearing, from what I understand, she was denied by the judge Monday, and is being heard again this morning.

This report was from yesterday. They Rivera family did have a case file 100 pages long, but it had been closed out.
