i mean this with all sincerity and im not trying to be rude — is there something up with LS? It’s baffling to me how she seemingly isn’t able to connect cause and effect / action and reaction.

Her judgement seems so odd. Like why steal lemonade and popcorn? Why lie about quintons dad when it can be disproven so easily? Why steal from a neighbor when there are witnesses?

How could she possibly think anything she’s doing portays her positively?
Not sure if this is what happened to LS, but possibly FAS or was she exposed to drugs before birth ?
LS' judgement would be clouded ... and if the bio dad of Quinton is correct, she is a present user, and imbibes heavily.
(300.$ just for shots, what is that, like 20 shots each for BJH and LS ?)

It appears Leilani gets even more emboldened every day that Quniton has not been found. Once charges are pressed, all of her words and bravdo will serve to incriminate her even more.

I have great faith in LE they have evidence of where LS put Q. Now it's just a matter of time before they find him and give him a proper burial.

It seems the search for Q has worn hard on all of us, the searchers, but not Leilani...

Maybe I'm jaded after watching so many nearly identical interviews with other caregivers who turned out to be the murderer of a disappeared child but I see zero sincerity in their words.

BJH says:

"We want something great to come out of this, but mostly, we want him not to be found in that landfill. We want him to be found...”

And Leilani chimes in to finish the sentence with:

“...Happy and alive. We want him back in our arms, holding us. That’s what we want. We’re just hoping that he’s in somebody’s house and they’re feeding him and maybe they wanted a baby or couldn’t have a baby. Maybe they thought they were his savior. That’s our best hope at this point.”

Like a tag team. Lies IMO. How many times have we seen the same lies? I've lost count. MOO.
Fake IMO, completely fake. That video made me ill ...

bolding mine.
How the bleep do they say that with a straight face ???
The LANDFILL ?
Cringe and horror.

Otoh, maybe they want him to never be found, as someone will most likely face the wrath of the law ?
And imagine if the small, possibly battered body of Quinton is found elsewhere, and the person(s) who put him there knew all along that he wasn't in the landfill --- imagine the frustration and sadness of the searchers and LE ?

So much 'ugh' about this case.

Trying to not spill over with anger or tears, but it's difficult.

I’m confident in what LE has said, and that they have evidence that led them to that specific landfill. Perhaps a cadaver dog hit on Q’s scent in the dumpster and at the landfill. The Chief was adamant that the evidence led them there.

My question is will the potential murderer be responsible to pay back the cost of the search of the landfill if he’s found there and they’re convicted?

What an odd expression. "...back in our arms holding us..."

No, we hold our weee little ones, they don't hold us. They may hang on but we HOLD them.

Her drug habits are self explanatory.
Cocaine causes rage and costs money.
It also blocks normal sentience compassion and insight.

"I’m here. I’ve been here every day since this. I’m not running and I’m not hiding. And if something does come up that I am at fault, I will take myself to that police station,” Leilani Simon said.

Sorry, no no no no!

Innocent mothers don't use any sentences that include: "...I'm at fault..."

What exactly is it that convinced them to try pulling a PR stunt like this at this time?

Were they paid for the performance?/

Why do they suppose they needed to portray a united front here? what exactly is that supposed to represent?
Only one is a suspect.

They're gonna walk hand in hand to the police station?
Together.
United.
Right.

That's gonna do somethin'?

Is it usual for the FBI to post cases like this, (where the Police have named a suspect), on their Kidnapping / Missing Person Pages????

Quinton has been added ….

Quintons page here

And yet other recent missing children cases that the FBI are involved in are not listed on the page … Like Summer Wells and Michael Vaughn…..

Someone had to of advised them of how they are coming across in the media because these people have no sense of self awareness.

Just watched the video and this is just my opinion

LS cannot stop looking at the camera! IMO it’s like she’s loving it! I also think she’s almost smirking through the “tears”.

As other posters have said, the way she finishes BJH sentence is just weird, unnatural and felt to me almost rehearsed?

I'm going to preface by saying I am in no way excusing LS's behavior. What I am seeing here is a person who maybe suffers from sociopathy or a combination of socio and psycopathy. This can stem from childhood trauma and abuse and/or genetics. I know someone with a milder form of this(no drug use, never a poi in a murder) and this person blatantly lies even though the truth is obvious(lying about education and employment, social status, or just plain stupid stuff; also lying to multiple people to pit try and them against one another for no apparent reason-entertainment?), has zero empathy for anyone, uses people for personal gain, zeros in on "weak" people to bring them down, outright theft or theft by manipulation(the elderly in this case). For this person, their early childhood was about literal survival-which I think changed their brain. Now everything they do is based on survival-obtaining money thru theft, lying to make themselves look better, and lack of the ability to form attachments or feel any sort of empathy. This person is cruel and very cold hearted.
Again I'm not excusing LS's behavior but this might explain it. Those with this disorder know what is considered morally right and wrong, but they simply do not care unless it benefits them in some way.

People her age are very comfortable in front of a camera, they film themselves all the time IMO
She does seem to smirk, even in her mugshots.

ETA - not just her age but social media has made everyone more comfortable IMO
