I just saw this. I had not watched this trial, kudos to those who did. The death was so needless. I am hoping that her Mother would also be charged. She KNEW Leilani was a terrible parent, but let her watch Quinton anyway. She should be charged with something...

Every time I see a picture of Leilani, it just looks like she is not the sharpest pencil in the drawer. I am glad that they didn't go with a diminished capacity defense...it may have actually had merit.

Fly High and Rest In Peace Little Quinton, your time on earth was unimaginable and I'm so sorry for that. No child deserves the abuse you endured. (I think LS had been mean and neglectful to little Quinton more than we know).

I can now ease my mind knowing this selfish, manipulative, fake, phony "Mother" will be locked away where she will never be able to hurt another child again.

I firmly believe that you get back what you put out into the universe good or bad. LS was so cocky and confident that LE couldn't prove a case against her. She was defiant and stoic until the jury's verdict was announced. Then it was tears, but tears for herself. Never a tear for Quinton.

I think we all know the real reason Leilani chose not to testify.

And for BJ having custody of the surviving children… well I hope the Georgia courts are prepared for another generation of problems. After all, Billie did such a fine job raising her own kids.

That the state of GA gave BJ custody in the first @!#$^&^* place is appalling to me and this never would have happened to little Quinton. Hopefully the state removes them asap after sentencing the egg donor. moo

I can tell you that from a child welfare perspective, the reason we work with families is because we hope that with services in place, people will change and do better. And it absolutely does happen (and yes, frequently it does not.)

I feel certain that because of the CPS screwups that happened before all of this, that local child welfare agency is being extra careful to supervise BJH and ensure that she is being protective of the other children. It's very likely that the district has custody of the children and they are placed with BJH provisionally while she demonstrates her progress with services and her ability to care for the children. However they have worked the legal aspect of custody, it's guaranteed that they are still very involved in her oversight.

We can sit on moral judgement of this family all we want, but the reality of the situation is that we don't know what this person has done to learn and grow. Do I think I would like her and want to be friends? Yeah, no, but for all we know she's had her come-to-Jesus moment and has become Grandmother of the Year.

Her sentencing hearing has been set. She is expected to appear before Judge Tammy Stokes on Nov. 21 at 10:30 a.m., according to court records.

I thought about posting some type of Halloween "tribute" to little Quinton now that's justice has been served (hopefully for lwop), but.. that just doesn't fit after what we've all seen, felt, and heard during his horrific trial. I cannot wait until Leilani Simon's sentencing on Nov. 21 at 10:30 a.m. Pardon me, while I do add that I wish, hope and will advocate actively that BJ never is able to have anything but supervised visitation with these grands (If THAT) if ever.

I followed Quinton’s case from the day he went missing through the trial, verdict and aftermath.

So how did I miss (or maybe forget?) that BJ’s house was sold at the end of February this year? It sold for about 400k.

Does anyone remember this? More importantly I’d like to know where she and the kids are currently living and if any other adults are in the house. Is the grandfather still in the picture?

I have some fear that she’ll move to an adjacent state and Children’s Services will lose track of her over time. IMO she hasn’t hasn’t changed since Quinton’s murder and instead made sure to say what she needed in order to gain custody of the kids.

It would be great if the fathers would step up and take an interest in their children as they grow and develop. Even regular visits just to show them they’re loved. I wish the dads all the best and hope the surviving kids will be strong enough to break the generational abuse and grow into happy, healthy adults.

The custody case was transferred to Juvenile court on 11/5/24. I'll keep an eye on it and post updates.

I can't remember, does she have current custody? If she does it's a travesty! Look at the relationship she has with her only two children as an example. The bottom two cases filed in 2022 & 2019 are against them. Should she really be raising the next generation?
