Understood, and I appreciate loud, but this guy was a Yeller!I appreciate when someone speaks loud. Too often it's hard to hear what's happening during trials.

Brian Steel finished his opening statement. So far we've heard from the state and 2 of the 6 defense teams. Its 3pm on day 2. Looks like openings will still be going on day 3.
19-year-old Rodalius Ryan's attorney, Angela D'Williams is giving her opening statements. She says her client was born on a couch. He was poor.
D'Williams: Why is Rodalius here? Because the state wants to put on a show.
D'Williams: "Sit back, enjoy the show, get some popcorn because this is not justice, this is a circus." And with that D'Williams is done.
Now Jay Abt, attorney for Deamonte Kendrick aka Yak Gotti.
Abt says it's an honor and privilege to represent Deamonte Kendrick. "He is not guilty!"
"Krispy Kreme doughnut hole!" - Attorney Abt describes the state's case against his client. He says the state will not bring in a single witness that will say that his client, Deamonte Kendrick, killed Donovan Thomas.
Abt: They are going to call hundreds of witnesses, they are going to bury you in witnesses so you'll forget the presumption of innocence and what real evidence is required. Zero! Nada! Zilch! Doughnut hole! Reasonable doubt!
Abt: Maybe the state will want to indict the Atlanta Braves. They dress the same, wear the same colors.
Abt: What is #YSL? It's a worldwide, international, successful record label.
Bruce Harvey, attorney for Quamarvious Nichols aka Qua, is going to reserve his opening statement until the conclusion of the state's case. (We assumed some of the teams would opt for this)
Careton Matthews Sr. is giving the opening statement for Marquavius Huey aka Qua. Huey is 27 yrs old, he was born in raised in the housing projects. He has 6 siblings. "He actually graduated from South Atlanta high school in 2014". He has two children, a 4 yr old son and 1 yr old daughter.
Matthews: Huey is not a convicted felon. He can sit on a jury, vote, own a gun. He has goals of being able to one day open a retail store that sells clothing.
Note: Matthews said has about 30 minutes more to go... Judge called for a 10 min recess.

DA Love just told Judge Glanville she plans to call Trontavious Stephens (“Tick”) as a witness.He took a plea deal back in Dec. '22 and acknowledge he was a co-founder of #YSL. He was sentenced to 10 years, 2 years commuted to time served, 8 years probation on RICO charge.

The state's first witness tomorrow morning will be Detective Mark Belknap. He's been qualified as a gang expert by Judge Glanville and is also a detective that was involved in this case.

Recess for the evening. Jury dismissed. Judge asked that counsels meet @9:30 am ET prior to trial. Court @10:00 am ET tomorrow.
