I found it interesting that Mr. D. kept his sunglasses on the entire time he was in the store. They may be prescription eyeglasses and he
needs them to see. I hate talking to people inside when they are wearing sunglasses and I'm not.

do I remember he'd had some eye surgery ? or eye issues?? IDK, maybe no

t but there are some glasses that help with the fluorescent bulbs, my uncle is legally blind and those irritate his eyes and very very hard to see clearly in the store...…...but they aren't shaded, not the ones I know of, they just help the fluorescent glare, the blue light and computer light..... but basically clear lenses, not sure how they are made

I also wear my sunglasses in the store sometimes as my light colored eyes are sensitive, though I have 20/20 vision

Why would a friend, CH, do so much damage to his friend’s face?

If he had already stabbed him in the face multiple times, why turn around and shoot him in the face too? Why not shoot him in the heart?

Attacking DM in the face seems very odd to me. But more importantly, it makes me think of Russell Dermond and his missing head.

it did me too, the bludgeoning of SD, why ive been distracted on that case lately

Answering my own question,
There are transition lenses that automatically change to protect against harmful blue light indoors and out.

Now, I wonder if I did right in changing out my bulbs in my house to LED blue ones instead of the yellow ones. They were so much brighter and looked natural.

and btw, Watcher, don't know but fluorescent is worse..…..well the non prescription help but uncle says it isn't perfection...…...I don't know if there are prescription kind, not sure what the difference would be in blue light protection, hard to explain on my uncles blindness, he can see, but has obstructions, needs reading glasses but can see pretty decently without, except for the obstructions...…...anyway the sunglasses are not the blue light protection lenses, some are yellow I think though as well as clear

This is such a bizarre case. Nothing stolen. No forced entry. Adult children are cleared. Could it be a murder for hire and the perp was given a key? If so, why? Maybe a former employee or business associate? Someone who may have been stealing something from them and they had been confronted? Were they witnesses to something? Mistaken identity? Just a killer who chose that specific method? It just seems too over-the-top for that to me. Where is the crime scene, I wonder? Did they meet up with someone they were comfortable with? I do hope the family and this sheriff gets answers soon.

YOu are right, don't know how I forgot that, it was RD who had recent past had knee surgery.....thanks...….don't know why he'd be wearing eye shades inside the grocery store unless just his eyes are sensitive like mine, I do that too sometimes, I worry people think im hung over hahaha...…..on the other hand, maybe RD was hungover?? lol

This is the case that prompted me to start checking out Websleuths. I went to Lake Oconee for the first time July 4th of 2017 and went back this past year over the 4th.

I now follow a handful of cases but this was my first. Those roads are super creepy driving on late at night. The boat ramp where the boat must have been put in since it's near the dam that SD was found is not close to the Dermond's house.

My Fiancé best friends Fiancé took us on a boat ride in 2017 and told us the story in 2017 pointing out locations.

This past 4th I wanted to see if I could find the ramp, dam and Dermond house from memory the year prior. I was coming from the lake house which is directly across from the Ritz at Reynolds Plantation. I was able to navigate to all three locations on jet ski fairly easily.

That only means that I don't think the bad guys would've necessarily had to been that familiar with the lake.

I've been reading posts since Foxfire used to comment but just found the courage to sign up and start posting earlier today on a separate case.

We lived on Sinclair...……...ABSOLUTELY...…..gun shots mean nothing, so many boat ramps, easy to find the D's, dark dark roads, long country roads, dark boat launches...…...Lawrence Shoals, DARK, no cameras, near the dam...…….best place ever to launch and exit, if they didn't live on the lake

I doubt the grandkids were questioned by SS once the kids were cleared in his mind. Still the most important piece of evidence is the man on the lawn . Why was he cleared as a suspect? why was he there? None of these questions have been answered by SS and I find that odd you'd think he would want us to move on also. Did he go back in the house? did he drive away? did he walk away? It wasn't a mailman because they don't walk on lawns per rule anyways. We need to know the reason this man was on the lawn. I consider it to be the best clue and a key to solving the case

Im not sure there was one, maybe a scare tactic.
What proof do we have....
Why woukd he risk telling that to the public if he knew someone who witnessed him may be at risj for seeing
Why was there no description yet thet jnew it was a man and said ni inw coukd see theu the trees, then they cant tell it was a man
IN THE podcast he was tslking about him as a suspect, he said... I DO.... yet had already been cleared according to later reports ??
Then told no one that hed been cleared and still has told nothing in this giy being cleared yet felt he was a suspect, if he existed, yet this is constantly in the news bit nithing abiut THAT GUY

It could be a set up by SS to go after the real killer but that's giving SS a lot of credit for being smart which i'm not willing to give. Lets assume SS is telling the truth about everything and he has no suspects and no evidence. A double murder like this and there was not 1 piece of evidence means the killers made 0 mistakes and I think we all agree the killers or at least 1 of them spent considerable amount of time at the house. If this is true then SS either missed something ( NOBODY can clean up that well) or the evidence he found is tainted by sloppy detective work or the evidence he found belonged to someone who has been there recently and they can easily contest it in court. 2 people get murdered and he has no one he suspects? Every good detective has a suspect after a week if not sooner. No foot prints were found? Apparently the killers never touched the ground or their would at least be foot prints

Exactly, except....COULD HAVE BEEN a setup, it failed and he had to clear the guy is what I'm thinking, so people would quit asking about him and find out there wasn't "a guy on the lawn" all along
