Did the Dermond's have a boat lift under the covered area at their dock?
It just hit me, in the first video Sheriff Sills takes Mark Winnie with him to drop the Sheriff's Office boat in the water. Then he speaks of specific evidence found at the dock, but cannot elaborate.
I feel sick thinking what I am thinking and praying Mr Dermond didn't have a lift and or the lift was not a murder weapon.... :(

I hadn't seen this one. Missed it somehow.

I don't have ATL tv stations here in SAV, but of course, I know you guys will let me know if they add anything tonight. Every night I say a prayer for this couple. If something like this had happened to my Mother, the police would have to lock me up for staying in their face (I would drive them crazy). I do have total confidence in Sheriff Sills, though. Don't know the man, just have that good feeling about someone who is obviously dedicated to his profession. I'll bet he is as tormented as we are.

Could a search warrant be done in the house and something taken with his DNA on it so it would not be as suspicious as a swab? Like a used glass, toothbrush, pen that he signs the search warrant with (if that has to be done), etc? IIRC, anything to be taken must be listed prior to entrance into the house? Or can the SW be non-specific on items to be taken?

Did that change under Obama? IDK, just remembering hearing something that it would or did change in regards to SW?

Another thought about daily routine: if they took any prescribed meds, how many pills in the bottles may be another clue. Many scripts are taken more than once a day.

I thought Sills said that he believed they were killed with different weapons but cant elaborate on what that is, didn't see article about Sills reporting anything found at the dock, INTERESTING!

That's a good point. They may even have those deely whackers that has the pills broken down into days and times to take them. My mom had one to help her remember what to take at time intervals.

I think in 2013 SCOTUS had an opinion that okayes DNA sample collection if you are arrested for a felony.

I'm pretty sure if you want to seize a toothbrush during an authorized search, you have to convince a Judge you have probable cause to believe the toothbrush has evidence of a crime, not just that it would be nice to have for DNA testing. Where it gets gray is if you are authorized to seize a gun because you convince the Judge that it was used in the crime, can you then try to extract DNA from it? Not sure. I know you can do ballistics tests on it once it is seized.

This was being discussed earlier in the thread

Reward is $50,000 thus far, somewhere else it is reported another $13k promised from local business

http://www.11alive.com/story/news/local/2014/06/03/reward-fund-dermond-murder-lake-oconee/9925577/

In a release, Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said the community of Reynolds Plantation would be contributing $30,000 to the reward fund. This is in addition to the $20,000 offered by the FBI in connection with the case, bringing the total to $50,000.

also can someone please explain the recent phone call to Sills, I didnt' see that

Also, where is it reported they have forensics on the dock

THANKS!

Since i love gardening, I have been wondering about that also. In ALL the pix and videos of their home, I have not seen any flower beds or veggie patches. I noticed some plants in pots on the porch, but that is all. Maybe the TV cameras just didn't show them.

thinking they have a gardener, lots of pine straw in those beds, I couldn't keep that up, half their age!!

But couldn't see the right side of the yard up at the house in the video from the lake, maybe tomato plants in pots

the video showed them lowering the boat on the lift

I don't think that was on the Dermond's property was it?
I saw white decking or something.

I thought that was when Sills put his boat in the water. Wouldn't think his was hoisted up at the Dermond's dock.

I thought so, because I saw the boat in the video under the boat awning and wondered if LE was keeping their boat at the Dermonds house now ! hahaha

Then showed the cable lowering the boat

they may have had that new decking boards, it's like cement, can't think what it's called so light looks almost
white IDK

Y'all tell me if I blew the margins. See the wall? The Dermond's do not have a wall.
They do have a lift. I'll try and catch that picture too.

The Dermond's boat lift.
Two different places. The Dermond's dock still has crime scene tape across the water. It is so fast I'm not sure I can grab it.

NO, that's not the dermonds, they have the fabricated awning over the boat and lift

everything was clipped, appeared they were lowering it from the dermonds

My gosh, that's very plausible, the cable, I kept thinking something around the neck, never thought of hanging!! DUH, If botched, decapitation according to video Litig8ter posted!

and if there was a mention of finding something at the dock WOW

do they need a court order or SW for the dermonds house now? A boat was recognized? Fibers from someones boat?!

Wow that awful, better if he was just hit unexpectedly, but not like that !!

Shirley would have witnessed that possibly!

And if they did drag him back tot he house, this was meant for effect and making a very loud statement to someone!!??
