The family of Tina Marie Hill has been wondering what happened to her for ten months. In March, they learned horrible news. Tinas body was found in a shallow grave in Social Circle. Someone killed her.
For four months after her body was found, they wondered who. Now, they have that answer. 32-year-old William Fred Maloy, Jr., of Social Circle, has been charged with her murder.
Tina disappeared in May 2005 when her boyfriend reported her missing. Tina was on heart medication after a brain aneurism and stroke in 2000. Her sister Fredia Christopher says she never fully recovered. Christopher says Tina was trusting, too trusting of others.
A month after she disappeared, Walton County Sheriff investigators dug up a well in Social Circle after receiving a tip that her body was buried in it. They never found her body until March of this year. Investigators received another tip. This time it was a good one. An informant led them to her body in a shallow grave in a wooded area off Spring Street in Social Circle.
Walton County Sheriff Lt. Chris Cannon said, The State Medical Examiners office with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation rendered an opinion that it was homicidal violence.
Lt. Cannon said there were no gunshot wounds or stab wounds on her body and an exact cause of death has yet to be determined.
