GA - Twin brothers miss flight to Boston, found dead 24 hours later in Georgia mountains, 14 Mar 2025

Thank you for your local insight. I'm just having a problem of the murder/suicide conclusion. If they wanted to commit suicide, why not just jump off the mountain top and fall to their deaths? Why bring a gun and shoot themselves to death?
I don't know about anyone else but I'd much rather use a gun than jump off a mountain. Easier for the bodies to be found too. Doesn't keep people wondering what happened to you.

I kinda like the Thelma and Louise thing.
At least ,if you survive you know it was fate. With a gun ,all it is -is bad aim and irrational feelings and yourself as a target.
Now I can shoot good enough, but not at me!
I could miss ,what if one shot wasnt good enough ?
Do I want my twin to die enough to risk shooting him an him not dying? Or me shooting me and I dont die?
I think it boils down to personal preference. I would rather jump.

Poor guys. So sad that it was the only way out they could see, to whatever was going on. Rest in peace.

So, one of the twins (Naazir) purchased that ammunition. From the report:
  • Records show Naazir purchased ammunition used in the gun. The ammunition was delivered to his home on March 5, 2025.
But, we still don't know where the gun came from.

Awful. To be that young and seemingly agree with your twin that life is no longer worth living... I can't imagine the pain they must have felt, the aloneness, whatever it was to make them share this one final act together. Couldn't they have somehow known they still had each other and always would?

Because I also can't imagine the strength /despair it took not to back out. Couldn't they see the power in that loyalty?

This is so sad.

The evidence is compelling. Sometimes people have strong denial about suicide but the truth is clear. So sad! At the very least, they had each other.

This is only some of the evidence because the full report hasn't been released:

Cellular location data has established a timeline of their location from their home in Gwinnett County to Bell Mountain. In the video that corresponds to those locations, the Lewis brothers are seen alone.

Records show Naazir purchased ammunition used in the gun. The ammunition was delivered to his home on March 5, 2025.

Internet history from their phones showed searches for how to load a gun, suicide rates in 2024, and other related searches.

Forensic evidence showed that the Lewis brothers fired a gun.

Just saw the update, my thoughts are with the family. I hope they were provided with enough information to be confident the investigation was through and the sad truth behind Naazir & Quaadir’s deaths is true.

I’m certain they were provided with much more than what was stated in the GBI update. We won’t receive anything further, that’s why the open records link was provided. I hope the media respects the twins and their families, and lets the ruling be the end. We the public don’t need to know the personal details. If they choose to speak, that’s different.

Losing a child to suicide is utter devastation. I can't fathom how one recovers with a reality that both of these young men decided to end their lives together. I have no idea what factors were at play in this family but I do know that this will tear them apart for the rest of their lives.

We know that acts of suicide can be contagious so I would imagine any pact these young men made was going to be upheld by each of them. To be so young and hopeless just makes me want to cry.

Yes.

This one is going to haunt, does haunt. It is hard to accept that, while I desperately want to understand why this happened, I likely never will. I could not be more different from these young men, could not claim a single shred of connection to them - apart from being human - and yet I find myself so deeply sad they chose to end their lives.

Their family... There can't be any words for what they are going through.

That is so incredibly sad. It is very hard to be a young adult in the USA right now. The world is in chaos, climate change looms on the horizon, they don't see any way to achieve the American dream of raising kids and owning a home, and lots of them are struggling.

Every generation in the US has faced challenges. Worldviews are largely shaped by the family of origin. What you say is true, I’m not diminishing that.

But it sounds like a very hopeless point of view. There is beauty and goodness in everything around us; what you choose to see shapes your worldview.
