This is reminding me of the twins found in the river in Aberdeen, Henrietta and Eliza Huszti. Their family had no inkling of any distress either. Twins often have a bond and an understanding that the rest of us don't really understand. With teen twins there is also hormones that factor into emotions, closeness, ride or die mentality. So very sad.
 
I understand a lot of people are referencing the twin bond, however twins are often hereditary and many I've known are the children of twins or are of a twin family. Twins are very special but to suggest they have a connection outside any understanding of their family is a bit misguided, imo, especially if there are other twins within this family. What I'm saying is twins are usually not the only twins within their family and the bond/connection is often something that occurs within the entire family and other twins in the family. Surely that should be considered as well. Twins, in my experience come from tight knit families. The family saying they are shocked should be considered a little bit more. Not saying a suicide pact is impossible, but I can understand how family with twins might be extra confused by something of the sorts, considering the love and adoration that is often given to twins in a twin family. I truly hope more exposure of these exceptional young men and their family are put to the forefront and not the negative. Their life ending might've been tragic but their story is very important. Even f it was suicide. But especially if it was something else. No matter what, these boys and their family deserve our time, respect, thoughts and prayers. That being said, I hate the idea they were travelling or meeting someone for illegal means. I think that says more about the observer and their limited experience and less about the boys, their lives and actions. ETA: Because of my experience, I wish it wasn't discussed about these boys but I understand everyone has their own opinion. :)

IMO, I'm afraid the speculation is also due to extended family members who are being vocal and given air time to dispute the preliminary finding by the GBI (and even the primary family).

Reportedly, the young men lived with their father and stepmother in Lawrenceville who would also be the legal next of kin and the party receiving info from LE. From the stepmother, we learned early that the twins missed their flight to Boston, their shared vehicle was found at Bell Mountain-- with their phones, wallets, tickets, and luggage found inside the vehicle -- all seemingly being discounted by the extended family - as if this info is not credible.

IMO, the parents know and are dealing with the facts.

Meanwhile, the funeral/memorial goal at $20K by extended family has far been doubled and I hope some of the funds raised can be used to raise awareness on mental health-- especially for young black men as there's long been a stigma here. MOO

ETA: Another GA twin was just arrested for allegedly shooting his twin brother.

Very tactful post, you expressed the core problem perfectly. We don’t know the dynamics at play in this family. But it’s apparent there are differences. The father is said to have had a stroke and cannot speak, which is likely why the stepmother is being quoted in news sources.

Do we know who the beneficiary is for the fund you describe?

SO beyond sadder if possible, concerning their father who cannot speak, beyond painful this.

actually , fraternal twins run in families, identical twins are random and not familial or genetically carried.

The Organizer self-identified by all including MSM as the Auntie, and more recently (today), an update was provided that funds will go to the Auntie Organizer to pay for the funeral / memorial expenses. Also, I recall Obits for the twins posted here earlier stated a Memorial was being planned for a later date.

Thank you, I did find it and read the update from today. The remainder after funeral expenses, will be used "to get justice for our nephews".

That’s a great example to share.

Personally, I’m waiting for the investigation to be concluded and a factual ruling from the ME. I hope whatever information is provided to the family, helps them to be able to process what happened to Qaadir and Naazir.
 
I've been following here without posting but I came here today to ask if anyone has considered a possible "sextortion" (meaning extortion + sexual blackmail" type of situation. There have been quite a few cases of really unexpected suicides of young men in the twins' age range where this has been the final outcome. Similar to this one and many others the parents are often telling authorities that it's completely out of character and they cannot be convinced otherwise. These days they often can find some digital footprint to confirm. Many families, however, choose not to go public.

There was a similar tragedy in my state a few years ago and the parents made a brave decision to go public because they wanted to warn others about the dangers. The father of the victim in my state even made PSA's speaking to young people that your parents are still going to love you even if you got caught up in something like this.

The scam usually entails the victim being scammed into posing for explicit photos for someone they have met online. Do we know if these boys were gamers? That is often a connection. The photos are usually escalated into behaviors that become so far from the pale that by the time the scam reaches the blackmail phase, these kids feel so trapped that suicide, in their minds, becomes the only way out.

I just wanted to throw this out there because I just can't wrap my brain around this one. Yet.

My vague suspicion: probably catfished in some way, and later, blackmailed. They don't look angry, aggressive or "bad news". They look like kids who can be exploited for their good looks, ambition, taste for clothes. I'd look at their older "street smart" friends and SM.

Imo: Not only are they uniquely good looking they're identical twins which are sought after for fashion, print and commercials.

19 is not too old to become a model, especially for males. Acvording to this agency the typical age to begin is 16 - 21.

I read some interviews with models - more women than men, but men, too - and it seemed that they used to start younger. Fashion world is money-oriented, so the question is about "investment" and "branding."

Identical twins are required, in theory. We know some. Other exceptionally good-looking twins didn't make it into adult modeling. I am far from that world, but from what I have read, that world is less about looks and more about "versatility"; a model needs to look different for different shots. I assume that twins require "special" layouts. Maybe advertising the same brand but different colors? Anything that comes into my head is about girls, like two "Dior" purses of different color.

Why younger age? It is close to entertainment world. A successful model is a "brand" themselves. A lot is invested into them. Once the recognition factor is there, they have to work enough years to make money for the industry.

JMO. It bodes down to how many years a successful model is expected to work, realistically.

P.S. your question led me to another one: what if twins are looking into getting into a model world, and go to castings, but only one is invited into a potentially big project? Or accepted by a model agency? How would the other one respond?
(I doubt it was the case, though).

This story really hurts.
I think sometimes it’s easier to believe that evil forces have ended a life and harder to accept that someone ended their own life. I think this is especially true when the person who ends their own life is particularly attractive or privileged.
Somehow it makes less sense when a young person has such a bright future ahead of them.
When someone is deeply loved and adored it is so hard to believe they ended a life that held so much promise.
But it happens.
I think by now police detectives have been able to analyze phone data on the phones of both twins and they likely know that they searched Bell mountain.
I think the family also must know where/ how the gun was acquired.

I have known a couple of young men around this age who ended their lives by suicide. Both were popular, privileged and extremely attractive. Both had extremely loving families and many friends. Both were suffering from mental illness and were medicated for depression when their actual illness was more of a psychotic nature- in one case extreme paranoia and the other case likely bipolar.
Both shot themselves.
One chose a hidden creek bed in a park surrounded by trees- somewhat resplendent of where these twins were discovered.

I didn’t want to believe that these young, attractive twin brothers chose to end their lives but sadly I do think that is the case and I think the decision was mutual/ a pact.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of Naazir and Qaadir.
It’s easy to understand their disbelief- especially with no note or message left.
