That's what I think happened. As for where they parked the Yukon, it could have been around the corner on Book road.
"The marine unit was called in Thursday to search a pond in an area off Book Rd. The search stemmed from a tip from a neighbour who heard noises around the time of the disappearance. Nothing was found."
Finding nothing could have been because they left nothing to find, or LE was focused on finding something in the pond, when really they should have been looking for the Yukons tire tracks. Of course at the time they didnt know anything about the Yukon.

Here is a Google Street View of Trinity looking South.
It shows TB house on the far right. On the far left is a driveway area at the time under construction with dirt piles. It has a pond behind it also.

I've always felt the car was close.
Here is an overhead with TB's home in red with a drive way approx.
And a red square where the Yukon could have been.IMO
Or as lanman said Book rd and possibly the corner(RED CIRCLE) which joins that field/pond/red square area.

The map IS NOT current and may not resemble these views any longer.
Lanman, maybe old views are why I didn't see a better pond on Book rd or I missed it.
Also all supposition and JMO
And I'm having trouble trying to get the pics reasonably smaller.......
