I thought the angle of the bullets was supposed to show premeditation. I don't see how the phone in the bathroom proves anything, she could of took the phone with her to the bathroom and laid it on the floor to go the toilet. In fact, if she was running from him and so scared, wouldn't she take the phone with her and call behind the locked door?

I don't think he's going to get off scot free either. He admitted to shooting and killing someone, it's just a question of whether he knew who he was shooting at. Unfortunately, due to the farce of this 'investigation', we'll probably never know the complete truth.

I will say on the issue of journalism. I feel sad that people are able to make quick judgements based on tabloid-level 'facts' when the reality is usually very different. I know I've learned my lesson a long time ago to take anything that doesn't come from either LE or the state with a grain a salt, because often times we see that journalists will run with the first hint of something that may or may not be true, simply because it sells newspapers and generates clicks online. It's better copy to say that he bashed her head in with a cricket bat or that he shot her in the bedroom. That doesn't mean it's the truth though.

To some extent I have sympathy with the journalists. Even the quality broadsheet print media outlets now operate in a fevered 24/7 real-time world in which getting the story out NOW is imperative. "Ready - Fire - Aim" is the order of the day.

Also, in many cases (not necessarily this one, but for instance custody disputes come to mind as the classic example) there may be limits on what the officials and authorities are PERMITTED to say, but there may be persons involved who are very willing to offer interviews and statements on and off the record, often muddying the waters as they do so.

Sometimes - again I refer to child custody disputes - it must be IMMENSELY frustrating for police or social workers to be bound by gagging orders (over privacy issues or sub judice matters) while "the other side" is able to blab away to a captive and hungry audience of journalists, who then can write this stuff up and "tune" the readership to a view of the case that may have little or nothing to do with reality.

Here's a real classic of the genre from Finland from a few years ago. Take lack of information, some disinformation from one player, add a pinch of Finnish nationalism, and serve...

IMO, this is yet more evidence against OP. Why waste ammo to subdue an intruder you can't see? It's completely illogical and shows poor gun training. Shooting at RS behind the closed toilet door was an act of rage. He could very well have not intended to kill her. He could very well be truly remorseful. That doesn't change the fact that his fit of anger caused a young woman's death. IMO, some of the best evidence against OP is in his lawyers' very well-crafted defense of him. Probably because they are the only ones working with the true story.

Is this real? I mean, this proceeding is supposed to be somewhat serious and it's like they are just putting on a show.

This goes back to the argument about why did he wait until she locked herself behind a door to hurt her. Her actions are not indicative of someone who is being chased by a gun, running to the smallest room in the house with no place to hide, leaving your phone outside the room your running too.

Now, if you were to say they were having an argument and they were already in the bathroom (meaning he wasn't chasing her, but found her in the bathroom and the argument started), that's more believable.

Very interesting observation - probably more than a grain of truth in this...
