Heya Jen! I don't believe for one moment that LE would have removed the website or memorial. There is no reason for them to do so.

Again, I think it's Mr. P.Ness trying to minimize his actions. He's trying to hide the fact that Janet was murdered. He's ready to move on with his life . . .

But like Moxie said, why remove the tribute to your wife. The memorial that was probably made for Kaiden so that he could hear his mother say "I Love You."

I wonder if moving on with his life includes getting a job?

ROFL! Or living off a certain fund?

Seriously, if my husband was brutally murdered in my home, there is no length that I wouldn't go to ensure justice served. Including building a memorial website to draw attention to the case, speaking to the media, asking for tips and leads, etc. etc. etc.

They had a few different friends at church who would watch Kaiden

Raven had mentioned in one of his online posts that they had "a good friend" that watched Kaiden. It sounded like a specific person. I don't have the post in front of me so I don't know what date it was but it did sound as if he was referring to one person.

Do you know if the babysitter(s) came to the Abaroa house or if Kaiden was taken to other people's houses for babysitting?

To answer the question as to Raven's whereabouts, he's still living with Janet's family, although he's moved around a little from one family to another. And from my sources close to the family, he's completely moving on with his life, as if he's been released from prison.

Yet another day with no news. I guess that it's good to still stop by and see that people are still looking at the forum.

Any more opinions on the whole no more ravenstree and memorial video? No one seemed to know if LE would have them removed for a reason or not.

Not sure if this has been said yet, but I heard yesterday that the house they rented is now for sale, so if anyone wants to take a look at the inside, that's probably the best way to do it.

Originally, I was tipped off that he was carrying a new $500 phone.

Quite frankly I was so shocked at the idea that a phone could cost $500. Why in the hell, would someone want or need a $500 phone? It didn't dawn on me that there are those new cell phones with internet access out now. It doesn't take a great leap of logic to figure that if Mr. PocketPCGuy dropped serious cash on a cell phone that it would have internet access as well. IDK if that's the phone he purchased, it's just the one I found for $500.

If this indeed true, then the first thing that pops in my mind is finances.

HOW would Raven have that kind of money to purchase a new phone, PDA, etc.?

Which takes me back to a question we bantered about before -

How is Raven being financed, period.

We know he hired a lawyer. There are surely some sort of expenses associated there.

IF he's had any sorts of fines, etc., thus far, associated with the embezzling case... that would cost money (my thought is that he's had to pay nothing yet on that front, as the case is still open)

How does he cover just his fundamental expenses? Ok, if he's staying with Janet's family members, presumably they provide the basics for Raven and Kaiden - food, shelter, baby essentials.

-But what about let's say, gas for the VX?
-Internet access?
-Past bills?
-Insurance of any sort, ie, health, auto, etc.?
-Registration fees? (If you look closely at GMs find, there are fees associated with playing in that beach volleyball league. Not huge fees, no, but, fees nonetheless.
-We know he has outstanding property taxes on vehicles in Durham County.

We have no information that Raven is in fact working, bringing in a paycheck.

So, there must be a source of income from SOMEWHERE??????

My experience in criminal cases (this would include the embezzlement charges) attorneys like to be paid upfront.

So someone had to at a minimum pay for that for him, as they had absolutely no resources when Raven was fired and Janet quit. They seemed to be extended to the hilt at that time and even without having to pay for an attorney they would have been extremely far stretched financially. A hit like that, when you don't have decent savings, can take a long time to recover from. I don't think it's hard to imagine that there wasn't much cash lying around before the arrest.

Somehow Raven has to be financed right now. Families do pitch in and help during emergencies, but imagine their hard earned cash going to support someone and then that person turning around and making flashy and unnecessary purchases. Ouch.

Talk about captalizing off a death. Have you heard about the woman who's husband died in Tower Two of the WTC who ended up with $5 million dollars, from various funds, insurance, etc. She's whining now that she only has half a million left because she frittered it away on shopping, a house, cars, breast implants for her and a friend, I believe and tons of other stuff. Wonder if her husband is watching saying "Nice breasts, babe! Wish I could have enjoyed them!"

But you know, Raven probably would have ended up with that phone anyway. Probably charged on a credit card that wasn't being on or paid for by the money Janet was working to support them with. Oh, yeah, he said he had found a job.

It's interesting that I was tipped regarding the cell phone and not the volleyball game. The cell phone tip puzzled me at the time I received it ... I mean seriously what do you do with that information.

It didn't really register until www.ravenstree.com was dismantled. I mean how could he get internet access to take that down? I just don't see him asking Janet's family for a chunck of time on the computer to remove her pictures . . . then I remember the new and improved and very expensive cell phone!

On the other hand, I wonder why I didn't receive a lead on the volleyball information. So either 1. the people who have been visiting with me didn't know that's where he was or ... 2. they had already discussed it with LE and were comfortable with the information being where it needed to be.

Of course, once it's online in the manner I found it, it's fair game as far as I'm concerned!

You know, all of this talk of $500 cellphones, volleyball, Raven "moving on" with his life, etc., reminds me of a comment made several days ago, if I'm not mistaken, made by Rooster - something to the effect that LE is probably keeping a close watch on Raven.

More than ever, I certainly HOPE that that is the case -

-I hope they know where he is every minute of every day.
-I hope they know his activities with regard to Kaiden.
-I hope they have access to, and monitor, his cell phone usage and internet usage.
-I hope they too are curious about his finances and how he's able to support himself and Kaiden and his lifestyle these days.
-I hope they somehow monitor his "plans" - ESPECIALLY if they ever include moving away, anywhere.

I say all of that, because we have no direct statement from LE, to this day, that Raven is NOT a POI. And accordingly, if he IS a POI, then my hope is that they keep a very close watch on him, at all times, somehow, someway. And, that said, if LE has other POIs in this case, I would hope the same holds true there as well....

I hope that there are people feeding information to LE every single day about this case - whether about Raven, other POIs, evidentiary things, facts, what have you... maybe something, from someone, will lead to SOME person going from being simply a POI, to becoming the accused and the arrested!

Imagine donating to a memorial fund and finding out that the money went to buying a $500 cell phone instead of banking it for Kaiden's future. That would infuriate me to no end. I hope that people are smart enough not to donate to a fund that has no destination (other than Raven's pockets).

Just thinking about credit cards and I was thinking...I wonder whose name the Abaroa's credit cards were under. And whose names were the car loans under too. We all know there had to be debt. I just wonder who the debt was attributed to.
