Something I've done in this case, is used the process of elimination. Who would cover for whom? (That's my burning question?) Who has lost the most...relative to presumed innocence. I think Ron would cover for Misty, but only up to a point. and never for Tommy. I don't think Tommy would cover for anybody. I think Misty might initially cover for Ron, but those days are long gone. I do think she would cover for Tommy. She went along with his JO story, afterall. They've all lost their freedom and I'd think the innocent ones would be racing to the DA's office...but they're not. So, either they're all culpable, (which is almost unbelievable), or they've given up hope? Ron lost his freedom and custody of Jr. His aunt, (who he seemed close to), died, and his grandmother isn't getting any younger. Misty lost her freedom. That's about it. Tommy lost his freedom, his wife divorced him, and I doubt she takes the kids for visits. When I look at this, I have to wonder why Ron, if he's innocent, hasn't talked more. But he did make a deal to tell the truth, so he's probably talking some. Misty doesn't seem to be suffering much, so that could explain why she's not talking. She was reportedly offered ammunity, but obviously still hasn't taken it. Tommy on the other hand, has lost the most, IMO. Is protecting his sister worth 15 years and the loss of his wife and kids? IMO, he's the most self centered of the 3. He wasn't worried about his kids not having food, just his bail, so IMO, he's not the type to sacrifice for anyone. As far as I know, he hasn't been offered any deals. Another thing I take into consideration when comparing Misty and Tommy is a murder sentence. On one hand, Misty was a 17 year old girl, who was the primary caregiver of 2 kids...1 sick and the other not much more than a baby. She was in a rotten situation and if she killed Haleigh, she could blame stress. She wouldn't be in any more trouble than she is right now. Wouldn't Tommy see this logic? If she's guilty, he could tell his story, let her serve the 25 years she's stuck with anyway, and be on his merry way.Telling this truth wouldn't hurt Misty and it would help him. But on the other hand, if Tommy's guilty, that's a whole other ball of wax. What would be Misty's motivation to tell this truth? She would still be stuck with 25 years and her brother would be looking at the death penalty. MOO.
I tried to pull up the terms of the "deal" that was offered to Misty and couldn't find it in a hurry but IIRC Misty had to lead LE to Haleigh's body in order to get the "deal" and she still had to pull the twenty-five years for the drug dealing. As I've said many times IMO, Misty does not know where Haleigh's body is and can never lead LE to her so the "deal" wasn't exactly a "deal" where she could meet the terms. It would be nice, IMO, if LE had asked another question, one that she might could give an answer to........like, who killed Haleigh? Who was involved that night? Who helped cover it up? Where was Ron?..................something that could actually help solve this case.
