Apologies but I previously asked regarding whether Chauvin’s body camera video had been released and was answered but I am still confused. I specifically mean Chauvin’s own (his personal body camera and his alone) body cam although i know it was dislodged at some point during the incident. I still have not seen that and would appreciate a link or something. Thanks in advance!
As far as I know, only the part where he had his hands around Floyd's neck was released. I think it "fell" off before they put him on the ground. I don't know if there is footage of him getting out of the police squad.

This has probably been addressed but Chauvin was wearing black gloves that blended with his pants to make it appear his hands were in his pockets. Upon closer inspection, they weren't.

Thanks for clarifying. This only leads to more questions for me because although I know Chauvin’s bodycam was dropped at some point I need to see a complete video of what his body camera showed while still working and after the EMTs showed up. Thanks again and I appreciate everyone’s input.

The judge ruled that part of the video of the arrest would be admissible as evidence. I don't know exactly what he meant by medical evidence, but if anything it just points to the fact that in this case there were signs that Floyd needed medical attention and the officers failed to provide it. In fact they seemed to do everything possible to escalate the situation, which obviously made it worse.
The ruling was in favor/request of the defense, per the article. This establishes a pattern of behavior. Its an interesting read.

Nelson said the defense found meth and fentanyl pills in the back of the police car Floyd’s deadly arrest took place in and around. He brought up the 2019 arrest and argued that the pills suggest a "modus operandi" for Floyd ingesting narcotics during an arrest.

Oh, yes, when the witness asks him why he had his knee on his neck and he says something about him being a big guy? I haven't seen that either. I think he put it back on around the time the ambulance left.

IMO, one thing that all addicts are addicted to, and that is MORE ! Eventually a returning addict will require more than they used previously. Or, end up ODing. And, just to add that a recent offender as Mr Floyd was, being stopped and questioned by LE might have had him ingest all the rest of any illegal substances in his car or on his person at the time...so as not to get busted with illegal drugs. All of that can contribute to a lethal dose of Fentanyl, found per the autopsy IMO.

I think you've watched Reefer Madness one too many times. There are lots of long term drug users. Not all them end up using Fentanyl. Plenty of drug users died before Fentanyl became a thing, the entertainment industry is rife with them. But everyone who takes drugs don't die of an overdose. I mean, Keith Richards is still alive!

One thing you might be forgetting about in terms of GF's death is that African Americans between the ages of 18-49 are two times as likely to die of heart disease than whites. By the time AA are 35-64 they are 50% more likely to have high blood pressure. Those stats can't be ignored and they are evident in individuals who don't do drugs. What it does suggest though, is that hundreds and thousands of AA's are walking around, alive, with undiagnosed heart issues.

So as far as I'm concerned the only difference between those AAs walking around with heart disease and GF is that a cop hasn't knelt on their neck yet. IMO GF's heart disease has nothing to do with his untimely death. His death was the undeniable result of 9+ minutes of sustained pressure on his neck .

I found this earlier. Hope this helps! ETA: I just read your other post, I am not sure if anything more than this was shown in court or not, or if it was turned back on or even able to be turned back on.

I asked about this earlier today... wondering if anyone had an opinion of where Floyd had those that they were found in the back of the car? maybe in his shoe or shoes?

Also mentioned that from my LivePD watching days, LE routinely tells people they are arresting that it will be worse for them if the drugs are found once they are taken in and they should just fess up where they have it hidden. All JMO

The hands on the neck was getting out of the police car. As GF was being pulled from the car he came out head first in a prone position. Someone needed to support his neck...he could head butt the officers in the face, and for GFs safety to prevent a neck or spinal injury.
Video is up thread.

Much appreciated! Thank you and watching now. Either this answers questions or gives me more; similar to what many are thinking IMO

I found this too, this has footage of after EMS around the 13 minute mark and it's Thao's body cam footage... BUT... the sound goes dead on me for a bit? weird lol I'm sure this is where we heard Chauvin say something like 'he's a big guy and looks like he was on something'. Maybe not... still searching mom2chloe!! lol

Yes, it supports his claim that Floyd died from a drug overdose. But his behavior, anxiety, crying, etc, still doesn't justify them using excessive force. He wasn't actively resisting in an agressive way in either incident. If they suspected he was overdosing then putting him in the prone position and kneeling on his neck wouldn't be appropriate either, so I'm not sure how it's going to look if the defense implies that his death was his own fault because of his MO during an arrest.

Working in MH I've seen drugs hidden in unimaginable places.

BBM, so to prevent a neck or spinal injury, he can be subjected to a manouvre which could kill him?

Yes, but didn't it fall off shortly after that? Or was it during that time? I thought by the time he started kneeling on his neck it had fallen off.

Although I cannot be certain perhaps GF was making a fuss in the backseat because he either had illegal drugs to dispose of or ingested them or both. (Or maybe his friend and/or copilot did) also if he took the combo of drugs within his system. This is not a new arrest scenario to him and we know that to be true. Idk because I have the utmost respect for LE, social workers and all other first responders especially given our Covid times.
Did GF ingest the drugs they couldn’t dispose of or hide from LE in attempt to pretend it didn’t happen? Apparently his personal MO and a fearful scenario for any first responders led to this. The fact that his buddy provided him and others the drugs and maybe the counterfeit money doesn’t help. I hope Maurice or whoever is compelled to testify because frankly I am not sure Maurice is not somewhat to blame. He certainly instigated this whole scenario and I bet he hasn’t lost a night’s good sleep over it. IMO

Today was a great day for the Defense imo.
If I didn't know different, I would have thought the first two witnesses were Defense witnesses.

Correct me if I am wrong, but, at the beginning of the trial, Nelson claimed he wanted the cam footage from two Park Ranger's cameras entered into evidence? If that's true, I'd like to see what that's all about.

So the 2019 arrest is all news to me.

Very interesting IMO.

I also feel so very sad that Mr Floyd went down the path he did. He made mistakes, like we all do. He surely made bad choices, as many of us have done, and ultimately, I think he needed help.

I think he was exploited on that fateful day in May 2020, and that set up a chain of events, a perfect storm, that led tragically to his death.

I think several people bear responsibility for that chain of events.

I am also left with a painful sense that we as a society are failing the "Floyd's" of our world (IMO).

That being said, the trial is ongoing, and we have yet to see all the evidence. I hope y'all (and the jury), sleep well and not too much caffeine is needed tomorrow.

My heart goes out to anyone struggling with life in general, and especially substance abuse. I think that there needs to be more help for people.

Moo...I'm thinking the camera fell off when DC was holding him up.
They put GF in on the sidewalk side but removed him from the street side. DC was sliding him out, GF tried to turn face down, as he slide out DC holds him around the waist ...like a hug. Moo....I'm thinking its someone else supporting the back of his neck, but hey I could be wrong. Its all confusing and then pieces of video.
Hopeful more video will unfold to clear up unanswered questions.
Moo....
