I completely agree. In fact, according to his stomach contents, what was in the back of the car might be all he had in his mouth also.
Yes, when they said "pill fragments," it made it sound like there could have been several pills. Now it turns out the picture of the pill that looks whole was the only one. He may not have ingested any at all during the arrest.
Imo

To me, it's possible that they are from the same pill. The pill came out somehow and reminents of it got on the seat when GF was bent over on the seat for a brief time. I was thinking part of it was brown because of the blood when he hurt his face in the car.

in·ges·tion
/inˈjesCHən/

noun
  1. the process of taking food, drink, or another substance into the body by swallowing or absorbing it.
    "vomiting after ingestion of contaminated food"
    • the process of absorbing information.
      "the quiet ingestion of information"

Is anyone disputing that the body has to "absorb" the drug into the bloodstream for it to have an effect? Please tell me what I am missing about it because that's my understanding. If I'm wrong, I'd like to know.
I don't think anyone is disputing that. The use of the word "ingested" may not have been the right word. I think Nelson meant after "taking" a pill and Dr. Tobin meant once the drug has entered the bloodstream. Ingestion usually refers to the period of time before absorption. Imo

You guys have me in tears- yes, Gar was very special. And very handsome (of which he was well aware;). Thanks SO much for your sincere kindness and compassion...
Here's a photo of Morrigan, Gareth's "sister" (all my cats are/were shelter cats). Don't want to leave Momo out!

Susan Neith, the forensic chemist with NMS Labs in Pennsylvania, testified that the pill marked BCA item 51 was a partial tablet with no visible monogram and appeared to have red staining on it. The exterior of the tablet had a rougher surface compared to the two tablets found in the Mercedes. So it was an intact partial pill based on her testimony.

ETA: I read through some of Lane's statement when he was interviewed after the incident and he said GF hit his face off of the divider in the car and that his mouth was bleeding because of it. That wasn't a part of this trial so the jury won't know that part, but I can see how the pill could have come from GF's mouth and the red staining could have been his blood.

But he most likely would not have died that day if it was not for DC’s knee on him cutting off his oxygen. Per medical witnesses
That's the State's theory. JMO

I gave the definition of it from the Oxford dictionary on Google. Anyone wants to dispute Google about the defintion, they can, but I have to leave it at that.

I can't say what Nelson meant to say or what Dr. Tobin meant to say. I just know what they did say. Each said "ingest," and according to the definition I gave, that means to take in or "abosorb." I'm gonna leave it there because the most important matter is that drugs need to be abosorbed into the bloodstream to have an effect. Unless that is incorrect.

Try looking up the medical definition.

But yes, absorption means through the bloodstream to me.

I said the pill on the floor of the squad car and the reminents on the seat. I think those reminent on the seat are from the pill on the floor of the squad car.

That is concerning...the judge can excuse him and replace with alternate? Can he? I don't know but that is not acceptable. He must be working at night.
I don’t know.

Good point! I'm a recovering alcoholic/dope fiend, and with street drugs, you never know what all is in them or what they're cut with. Back in my doping days I snorted blue, green, brown, white, etc. meth- they cut that carp with everything from baby powder to Comet...

This is what I am confused about. I don't remember hearing any testimony about pill remnants being tested, only about the one pill. I did find that McKenzie Anderson testified to finding the pill. Did she testify to finding remnants too?
This is new info to me that I missed.

Two women testified about this pills. I can't remember which said what, but I think at least one partial pill was too little to be tested. I can't remember about the one with red in it if they were able to test it. But they did talk about each one they found, and there was blood on that seat, so I'm guessing some blood was on the partial pill. My guess only.

I think that's a very good guess...

Pretty sure there were a few yellow evidence markers on the back seat of 320 with what looked like white residue deposits to me. I suppose I assumed it was like from a moist partially disolved tablet moving during the struggle in the car and eventually ending up in the footwell of the police car but JMO.

I think there were remnants on the seat of the car in the previous arrest that they showed yesterday. I'm not sure where the other remnants were found either. Maybe the other car that belonged to Floyd's friend? It couldn't be the police squad because that wasn't found until months later. Or so I thought. Hopefully someone knows the details.

I have been waiting for sidebar to ask this question. I will copy/paste the comment posted because I don't know how to quote from a closed thread. This was tweeted yesterday and I don't know who this is referring to as I don't use twitter enough to know how to find out. Does anyone know any more info about this? Who was trying to speak to a Floyd family member?

This was posted in the trial day 12 thread :

@deenafaywinter:
From pool reporter: "There is a new person in Chauvin's seat, another different woman of Asian descent. She's wearing a white shirt, grey blazer, black pants and plastic framed black glasses. She is not the woman from yesterday. She *could* be Chauvin's wife."

@shawnarchen:

Press pool from Chauvin trial:
@latams
tries to speak with the person in Floyd's family seat during recess. Deputy comes out, looms over her and yells: "If you speak to anyone ever again in the courtroom you will be removed from the courtroom and media center per Judge Cahill."

Tami Abdollah@latams:

I was pretty shocked.

Tami is a reporter for USA TODAY and she was trying to speak with the family member.
I don’t know which one.

It was the day the the testimony was about the cars in the secure lock up with the seals on them which the defense had requested to be reexamined. Thats when this was found. Three females questioned about the tablet i believe
