Agree. Abduction was always the only plausible scenario. Therefore stranger abduction isn’t a surprise. However one wishes that stranger wasn’t a convicted burglar, rapist & child molester. CB really is a monster.

In the gossip clubs there are a lot of wildly unbalanced grudges against HCW. People are taking it personally.

it’s not just been HCW, there have been countless other. Be that an author, a vicar, the leader of a child exploitation service & so on. the reason is because all of those, including HCW, have 1 thing in common.

Troublingly, but not at all unexpected. This has extended to other victims. For example I’ve seen childish & senseless claims about Hazel, a victim of a rape. Again she has that same thing in common with the above. If her request to appeal is accepted, we’ll see that noise pop up again.

It’s easy to distinguish between somebody rational & somebody trying to get a rise. The shtick is sometimes worth a read, but I’m glad we have our DM group where sleuthing about CB isn’t peppered with attempts to curtail it.
Given it's not been established what as happened and the " prime suspect" is not facing charges any time soon, abduction is not the only plausible scenario.

IMO Abduction has always been the most plausible scenario & still is. No other theory is sensible.

Unless one has a Time Machine things don’t magically change in the past to the tune of a judges voice in the future.

Of course other scenarios are sensible, the disappearance of MM remains a mystery, no evidence of an intruder was found.

I’ve said the following time and again in other crime discussions - absence of evidence isn’t evidence of absence.
That has included crimes where the golden hour wasn’t bungled.

So here we are nigh on two weeks on, all's quiet.
Isn't he in prison til September? I always thought they were desperate to get a conviction last year because they didnt have the evidence in the MM case.

from my notes:
3/29/25 Update: Brueckner, whose sentence for a separate rape is due to end in September, has applied for early release & reportedly could now walk free in the next two weeks.

One thing I am confused about it - does he get out in September because it is the end of his sentence or is it that he gets out in September if some money is paid? I remember one time one of his lawyers saying some crazy British supporters would pay it.

THAT - I have no idea about. i thought that it is because he served his 7 years.... anyone else reading here - know?

I think it’s something like a minor charge tact on his sentence. I don’t think paying it is how he gets early release.

As somebody mentioned, it doesn’t seem that paying the fine will be an issue. I’ve seen comments in the gossip clubs - encouraging each other to chip in to raise money for CB. Even without those comments imo it’s blatantly obvious that a certain group will have fund raised for him.

His official release is September. If he cannot pay the fee for the offence charge he has to stay longer.
What sort of charge, thousands of Euros? Is there a sliding scale to the type of crime committed?

Ah so I was kind of right :)

Here tbh there would be no punishment for that.

Who makes this stuff up?

The express quotes the Mirror but adds a bit.

Mr Wolters said previously that there was no prospect of filing charges against Brueckner in Madeleine's case because the prosecutor’s office was still searching for forensic evidence to link him to the disappearance.
