DANGEROUS child molester Christian Brueckner might make a return trip to Spain or Portugal in under a month.
The convicted German sex offender – the prime suspect in the abduction of British toddler Madeleine McCann – will have served a current prison sentence by September 17.

The seven-year stretch for the rape of an American pensioner in Portugal will end that day, making him a free man.

However, The Olive Press understands that the prison authorities are likely to allow him to leave a week ‘or ten days’ before that date.

This thread should have been moved out of "In the News" a long time ago into Awaiting Trial and then into Trial.

So there is going to be some bumping around until we get it to where it finally needs to be, which is Sentencing and Beyond.

Hi - he does have a hearing coming up with completely different charges than the thread - can we keep posting on this one - or should I start another one? Charges are assaulting a prison staff member.

Let's just keep this one going. We would not normally have a dedicated true crime discussion thread for assaulting prison staff. (In the scheme of things, it's more along the lines of minor drug busts or convenience store robberies that happen every day, everywhere).

‘The prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has refused to be interviewed by the Metropolitan Police ahead of his upcoming release from prison, the force has said.

German national Christian Brueckner is due to be released from prison on Wednesday after serving a seven-year term for raping an elderly woman in Praia da Luz, Portugal in 2005.’

I’m not surprised he has refused to be interviewed. It is extremely concerning that he is being freed on Wednesday because he is a very dangerous man and still poses a significant risk.

And I highly doubt he will show up for his hearing on Oct. 27th....

If he's fitted with surveillance, they'll know where to find him.

I recall one of his lawyers said in 45 days he could leave the country, so I am guessing he will show up for that hearing jmo

The state court in Hildesheim has said it cannot legally disclose whether he will have to fulfill any conditions after his release. But Filscher confirmed to regional public broadcaster NDR that his client will be required to wear an electronic foot tag, report regularly to probation services and give up his passport.

German weekly Der Spiegel first reported on that decision, without naming sources.

He still faces an Oct. 27 court date in Oldenburg in northwestern Germany in a case in which he is accused of insulting a prison employee. A district court in the city sentenced him to six weeks in prison for that, but the defense has appealed.

It reads like he could get 6 weeks in prison for it. But we all know that money has been raised for him.

Can someone explain to me why the words "Not Guilty" have been added to the title of this thread?
CB has served a seven-year jail term for rape, in other words, he was guilty for that rape.

Furthermore; CB has remained the prime suspect in both the BKA as well as the Met's investigations into the disappearance of Madeleine Mccann.

Legit question. I think it's because he was found not guilty in the most recent trial. Typical to go from Verdict Watch to Verdict.

Even though he wasn't found guilty, I think most of us are agreed that, as a dirty rotten scoundrel, he's guilty AND he's guilty of a lot.
