It was reported that Lisa was taken to the hospital and was drunk and on xanax. In fact, she was assaulted by someone who wanted her xanax. She was not drunk.

All a big ole tale apparently. I don't understand the motive for this farce. Lisa has enough problems without the lies and innuendo being told. I hope she is getting her life together. I am not a fan but I am always on the side of the underdog and she is the underdog in this addiction she has.

Gwen, I laud you and the others who have shown compassion. I forget the actual numbers, but studies suggest that just about everyone knows someone who has or is battling addiction. It really does cross all socio-economic classes and I doubt Walter Mondale or Tedd Koppel would argue as they both lost children to addiction. It is a DISEASE. I know some debate it, but check out brain mapping and other info and I have seen it first hand and NO ONE chooses to be an addict. In some areas, take West Philadelphia or the Barrio in CA--it really is a generational thing--lifestyle that may add to the condition but many factors contribute. Children do learn what they live but not everyone becomes addicted. I don't think Lisa's situation is relevant to Haleigh and I honestly wish she could get a year-long rehab program, get training in some marketable field and get into a half-way house. It won't be an easy road, but it can and HAS been done. Anyone know Wayne Dyer?--read about his recovery from addiction and where his life went after he fell to his knees. I just am really angry and think if this had any relevance to Haleigh, it might be news but right now it is disgusting journalism. All, IMHO

I see addicts and think, I know you didn't grow up thinking you wanted to be a drug addict, what happened, what was the "thing" that pushed you over the edge. It's really heartbreaking. But for the Grace of God...........

Thanks, Teh. The exact words I wanted to use to reply to another post. There but for the grace of God, go I. Now it may sound contradictory as I do believe drugs are part and parcel of Haleigh's demise but Lisa is an entire different ball game. This "story" has zilch to do with Haleigh; but when I think of Ron in jail for dealing and Misty too--now that changes my take. I will see myself to the rubber room now.
