Exactly.

My thinking is that now their daughter has been murdered, they might want to go for custody of their granddaughter.

I got the feeling the baby was kept aparat from C's family.

Oh how noble of him.

Direct the robbery. He would happily have said nothing if some poor innocent person was charged with his crime.

In an attempt to justify the heinous crime against 20-year-old Caroline at their home in Glyka Nera , he allegedly said that he decided to direct the robbery because he did not want their daughter to be left without a mother and father.

Doesn't C have a brother and sister? Maybe one of them could adopt the baby? Taking on a baby full time would be a lot of work for his parents, as I assume they're much older, and her father is frail, so her mum might not be able to either. Do we know if he has any siblings?
I would think Caroline's parents would want custody. At least her mom doesn't appear to be frail.

I'm surprised he didn't use the asphyxiation fetish excuse, "and then I made up a story to protect her from public exposure of her fetish".
But I guess brutally asphyxiating the dog made that excuse implausible, even a jury of old school macho men would have a hard time believing the dog was into that.

I think she was an only child ( not totally sure, someone else may know better ). My guess would be that her mother will want custody. Difficult for his mother/parents.

What hogwash! So he thought the baby would be okay growing up without her mother, just not her father. And it was in her better interests to be cared for by the lying controlling father who suffocated the mother for 10 minutes, hanged the puppy and blamed foreigners. He is ........ (can't print it)

Siblings from her mother's first marriage. Older sister even made a FB page "Justice for Caroline"

Just wanted to add these lines from an article already linked above -

"They say the camera's memory card was removed at 1.20am

Then, at precisely 4.01am, Caroline fitness tracker captured an intense burst of heart activity, which is when they believe the couple came to blows.

The activity continued for another 10 minutes, until Caroline's heart stopped beating around 4.11 am."

Caroline Crouch murder: Husband hugs her mother at memorial before confessing to killing | Daily Mail Online

Quotes from previous threads -

"the interviewer asks her if she heard the cries of the dog. yes, she says, it was very fast. she thought maybe one of her cats had played around with the dog and bothered the dog. she was asleep and woke up. she remembers this (hearing the cries of the dog). then she heard a "dook" sound which she doesn't want to think about what that sound was, but she imagines it was probably the sound made when the dog was killed."

"The time is 4.20 according to the testimony of the neighbor of the unfortunate couple who heard the barking and looked at the clock."

---

Moving from one action straight onto the next.

Like they say, you don't know someone until you've lived with them.

He says he killed Caroline after she threw the baby in the crib and attacked him, I'm still waiting to hear what his excuse is for killing the dog.

Γλυκά Νερά: Ο Μπάμπης ήταν αποφασισμένος να παίξει μέχρι τέλους τον ρόλο του τεθλιμμένου συζύγου
I don't have time to translate the article right now, because I'm studying for exams. However, it includes a statement from a criminologist/police profiler/neuropsychologist, who, among others, describes the dynamics in B and C's relationship.
Right now there's a press conference on TV regarding the case. If anyone fluent in Greek is interested, here's the link:

But then, how many times I read: "He was such a nice man, always said Good morning..." etc. Sigh

Sputnik News June 18: This piece is about the testimony of the fake psychologist shortly before B's arrest. It's a poor translation and I might be messing it up, but here's what I got from it anyway:

EM's observation of the family: B did not allow C to attend sessions alone. They were an unhappy couple. The baby was small for her age (well, ya, preemie), and was sad. B asked EM at one point to say something positive about him publicly.

A SAD baby - it breaks my heart:(

I suspect the "inconclusive" DNA under C's fingertips will turn out to belong to B but was deliberately kept vague IMO

so nice! charming! gentleman! fairytale prince!

In English, we have this saying, 'you know what they say about charmers, better turn and run the other way!'

We have another saying, 'Whatever happens behind closed doors...' - meaning, nobody on the outside knows what happens in that family home.
