I have a question that may not be able to be answered.

Why did she go back to the same doctor that knew she was pregnant? Couldn't she have picked a totally different doctor?

It's an irrelevant question, but I'm curious if there was a reason that I'm not thinking of besides she just didn't think the doc. would ask about the baby?

She does what mommy tells her to do. Remember, she tried hard to get out of the first visit when she was told she was pregnant. But her mother insisted. So she went.

Because she had no excuse to tell her mother that she couldn't go back there. She had tried to go to planned parenthood according to her texts and her mom basically told her they were terrible doctors and hers was the best. Then, I think she tried to get out of going back to Dr Andrews by saying she didn't like him since her text after the Dr Boyce appt in July was that she liked Dr Boyce so much better. To maintain the facade with her mother she had to go back.

I was stumped for a minute when JR described Skyler getting doughnuts and eating it before theie parents got hom so they wouldn't know...
That's insane to me. Why does it matter? Because she tossed it up? Or because they were monitoring her intake? Were they making her that way? I have no grasp on eating disorders either.
I'm assuming this has to do with binging and purging? But even if she decided she wanted to eat when she wanted to eat, was she being monitored too much? To the point she'd binge if she could get her hands on anything that tasted better than broccoli? Not sure if I am getting my point across. Example: I have a friend that monitored her kid's food intake so when they weren't in her presence theyd run right to the pantry for a snack and get carried away with sheer joy and delight having a snack cake or just a fruit rollup. Their little excitement had me falling over laughing. I'd have to put the snacks away. She knew they did this if available and I knew not to let it get out of control to appease her. Seemed like that could get a little carried away..today they dont do this as bad, she has them trained. So now I wonder is Skyler's eating disorder the cause of her parent's food monitoring or the effect of the parents monitoring?

Sounds like to me she came from a loving home.

There have been plenty of people who have had worse than her and they don't try to conceal, kill and bury their child

Her mother was far from loving. She actively pressured her eating disordered daughter to lose weight. She's evil.

I'm not saying that excuses what I believe Skylar did. But it does show the family dynamic was not a loving one and that fits the neonaticidal profile.

Probably some of both. The difference between kids delighting in some unexpected treats they don't usually get to eat and binging in the ED sufferer is the shame. The cycle in the brain is the same as addiction.
So while those kids might have eaten too much and then laid around laughing at how full they are and how delicious the treats were until eventually they digested it and moved on with their lives, if someone of Skylar's profile had binged and then been prevented from purging, she would have experienced EXTREME shame, self-hatred, and maybe panic. She might have spent the next week starving, taking laxatives, and over-exercising to compensate.
Her parents may have been monitoring her intake to "help" her, but first of all they apparently sucked at it, plus her mother secretly wanted her to keep using the ED behaviors, plus the same home and family system that created the disorder is not usually the best place for treatment to occur.

She absolutely should have been in inpatient treatment long ago, away from her parents (MOTHER).

Thank you! I've been wanting to say this since day one but couldn't think of the music artist's name. Was worried she'd make it to end of trial.

Agree plus Mom probably needling BSR for days to get that bc script refilled ASAP -- well knowing her daughter is no longer pregnant and needs protection to avoid a repeat. MOO

Imo the relevant question isn't why she back to the same DR, but why she freely told the DR what she did.

DR asks- what happened with your baby, and all a secretive, manipulative, remorseless baby killer would have to say is- she was stillborn, and I'd prefer not to talk about it right now. End of conversation.

Instead, Skylar tells the DR the baby was stillborn and that she'd buried her in the backyard. Sure seems like a strange way of making sure no one ever found out about what happened to her baby. But, I'm sure those who believe the State got it right have an answer for why Skylar spilled.

I’ll never forget seeing the photo of Karen Carpenter on the front of People magazine the week after she died. Haunting.

I haven't followed as close as you all - but is she in custody? I swear she needs to be hospitalized and given some IV or something - I don't have a good feeling about her IMO
