That was good work by the prosecutor.

The defense has had to walk a tight line on Skylar's personality/psychological makeup. Putting emphasis on how her twisted relationship with Kim has damaged or conditioned her runs the risk of reinforcing a possible motive for killing her baby- fear of Kim, rejection by her, etc. etc.

The defense took a big risk putting this feller on, since it opened the door to exactly what Kraft brought in on cross. Their calculation must have been the benefit of testimony buttressing their argument Skylar was coerced into a false confession outweighed the risk of opening the door to the counter psych related arguments/evidence the State could then bring in.

I think the defense erred. In a fairly major way. Jurors watched Skylar's 2nd interview and saw for themselves either someone being coerced into a false confession, or someone being effectively interrogated and coming clean. The defense had no need for this witness. Jmo
