They got this all wrong. Unbelievable. Absolutely no consequences for MURDER.

She's going to jail until tomorrow's sentencing at least.

@gitana1 So they must have believed the child was stillborn? I had guessed involuntary manslaughter but then read the definition and the baby had to be born alive... JMO

I am coming to this case late - why do y'all say she was guilty? TIA

This could only have gone one way. There was simply no evidence that baby was born alive.

For my own sanity I need to walk away from this now. Thank you all for your insight.

Sleep peacefully baby girl x

She just said "I love you, I love you so much" to her mom. Mom replied "I love you more"

There you go kids... just play dumb and you can get away with anything. This is going to happen so much more now. So much for those safe spaces to drop your baby off to, just bury it in the backyard. And Mom is happy. Ugh. sickening.

I think the jury got it right here. The state did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the baby was born alive. Without that, all charges except the abuse of a corpse charge fail.

What's the verdict? Sorry. I was working.

Not Guilty on All major charges and the jury made the statement they did not find she caused the death of her child even though that was not required. Her bond is revoked bc she was found guilty of abuse of a corpse and is remanded to custody but will be sentenced tomorrow.
She finally broke down and I did too..gut wrenching.

Well ok then.

That’s enough of that.

Toodles until the next one!

The dynamics at home will not change that is the sad thing of this case. Skylar will still be in a prison.

Lots of jury sympathy for defendant influenced verdict. JMO.

Pretty much what I expected.

Good point, up to a point about the burning allegation. ;)

If all the jurors believed Skylar tried to burn her baby, there would be no need to ask whether just burying her baby in the backyard was illegal.

But I wouldn't assume much beyond that about what jurors might be thinking about Skylar's "confession" as a whole.
No, I think I am trying to say the same thing -- they wouldn't have asked the question if they agreed or mostly agreed that her "confession" about the burning was believable because there would be no need to discuss whether the corpse was legally abused or not.

ETA: Moot now!
