Name two what? Racists? Just Google those statues... I don't think I understand

You know what? Give me something other than T-Rex slap dash.

Go deep, my peeps.

If you don't consider all sides you are doomed.

Bring back history to all schools... IMO.

Because bloviating about the NRA is SO beside the point.

Follow the money...

Yes follow the money from teh NRA to the politicians that refuse any kind of action to protect our kids

You said you support the NRA. You mentioned you are a father. SO you are saying you support an organisation that is so distasteful that they will tweet a picture of an AR15 when students are literally protesting for their right to life, and some have lost friends and family because of guns. How can you support that? How can you stand by something so disgustingly tactless and so self-promoting?

This is about as big of a non-issue as I can think of. If people are offended by firearms, why are they following NRA on Twitter? People are looking for things to be offended by. Would it have been as offensive if the NRA had tweeted a photo of a shotgun?

Who cares about glamorizing the AR 15?

What else do we glamorize?

I think we'll need a new thread for my top ten list...

Those politicians seem to be the only ones proposing anything that would ACTUALLY protect our kids. Better security at schools, better background data base, better mental health follow up, stricter laws for offenders.

Arm schools? more guns? yeah NRA is really trying to help and not sell guns.

Not to mention the fight against common sense gun laws

On that day at that time? Yes! It is extremely provocative for them to do this. It shows that they care not a jot about the safety of children, or the right to life, or the protection of the 1st amendment (yet claim to care about the 2nd). They care about guns and gun sales.

You want links to prove racists still exist? Uhhhh okay

"White supremacists brandishing torches return to Confederate statue in Charlottesville"

I'm really not sure why this is being argued? I'm actually a bit concerned.

Flourish, are we in the same thread?

I care, and I care about using the image to taunt victims of gun violence.

I don't know how it's not considered a threat when they hold rallies and fetishize their guns in the wake of mass shootings.

I'm not sure that we are, no.

Because apparently this was missed by some

"NRA tweets picture of an AR-15 amid the National Student Walkout"

"By 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, students and teachers across the country were settling back into the school day after morning walkouts in honor of the 17 people killed last month by a Florida gunman wielding an AR-15-style rifle.

A minute later, at 11:31 a.m., the*National Rifle Association*tweeted out a picture of such a weapon."

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/nra-tweets-picture-ar-15-amid-national-student/story?id=53767732

Apparently nobody at the NRA paid attention to their grandmas, as every grandma I know says, "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all"

So needlessly cold and cruel

From the link because I think context is important.

The gun rights advocacy group has been vocal in its support of the Second Amendment in the wake of the Parkland shooting, and it used the social media post to reiterate that message.

"I'll control my own guns, thank you," the tweet reads, followed by hashtags for the Second Amendment and the NRA, along with a picture of an AR-15-style weapon and the same caption alongside it.

Later that day, the NRA also tweeted a congratulatory message for the passage of the STOP School Violence Act of 2018, which the House of Representatives passed Wednesday with bipartisan support.
