Gosh I sure hope local channels will cover it. I have not heard anything about it though. You would think one of them would since they have covered all the pre-trial hearings. I know what you mean I want to see a real judge not an Ito.

I have no experience with the law and courtrooms other than being on a jury for a felony assault here in Canada. I was so impressed by the total respect for the court on every level and the respect of the judge for the jury. Everyone knew what they were doing and the judge set the tone. It was clear that there was no fooling around in the court. Maybe the robes help.

I imagine that Judge Perry is outsmarting Baez. I don't understand, however, why the tone is more laissez-faire. I have felt disappointed at the state of the courtroom, and the seeming camaraderie. The perp is on trial for filicide. Where is the gravitas?

But within the given context I believe that Judge Perry rules. I suppose I just prefer things cut and dried, reasonable and respectful. Even the small things like the way people dress, whether they are allowed to chew gum, matter.

I see a circus and I wish I didn't. I just don't get it.

After trying to work out what the he!! Baez is up to with his pithy attitude and snipe I had a thought today......could he be trying to provoke the judge into leaning towards the prosecution in an attempt to get him to rule unfairly in their favor at least once and give Casey grounds for appeal? If so HHJP isn't biting. I am 100% for HHJP erring on the side of caution in all this, there will be appeals lodged after the trial, I think he isn't about to make it easy for them.

I don't know if JoseB is that smart. I think that's his whole problem.

Right now there seems to be "play" or moves back and forth arguing funds, evidence, experts, etc., but the real battle begins in five more months. I think we'll see the "real"much more formal at trial, HH Judge Perry.

Belvin Perry did not become Head Honcho Big Kahuna of Judges on a *ing whim. He's got one heck of a reputation and I fully expect him to demonstrate why he has earned that during the trial. I'm not worried one whit at this point.

Absolutely!!! He is incredibly smart and hugely educated in the points of law. I think we will see a very orderly, well and tightly run trial and a respectful atmosphere during the trial.

I think we saw a bit more of HHJP in "trial judge" mode rather than "hearing judge" mode.

And I counted three Bye-azz smackdowns during that very short hearing. One, JB objecting to the camera work in the hearing, Two, To Kronk or not to Kronk vs. a gone fishing sign on the judge's door, plus another "not signing a blank cheque - re Dr. Lee.

And Mr. Baez didn't even have the floor today.

I was being too kind wasn't I? Can someone who passed the bar really be as stupid as Baez, I was having trouble believing it, but moving out of denial now. I liked the hearing today. Judge Perry explicitly told Baez that he was NOT going to be in the court house next week.

This is how I like to see Judge Perry. He has also made deadlines for a reason and Baez needs to understand that. I am so sick of hearing Baez say, "We are working on it, Judge." That is a favorite answer for Baez.

I think we will now see Judge Perry start sticking to his deadlines and will not let Baez slide any at all now.

Judge Perry has done a great job, and I hope to see him driving home that this trial WLL start on time.

If it is not streamed live you are going to see a whole huge crowd going wild. There will be screams, crying and wailing. I am already pre-planning menus so I do not get interrupted with food questions on what is for dinner. It will be in a round dish that either pops in the microwave or oven. Hubby will have lunch recess to get it all out of his system on anything he needs to ask or say to me. I will be plugged in on here, watching on TruTv too. I do not want to miss a word when they go to commercial. The day CA, GA and LA testify I am sure I will have rag stuffed in my mouth so the neighbors do not call the cops from all the screaming coming from our house.

One problem for me is that I eat whem I am stressed or nervous. Gotta make sure all of my 'big girl' clothes are clean because I will need the larger sizes to get through this trial, LOL!

I have watched so many trials starting in 1995, and this one has already had more pre-trial hearings than any other I can remember.

Cannot wait to see Judge Perry in super trial mode. Love him!

I feel the exact same way I did on day one when I researched his record, and learned he has been reversed on appeal one half of one time, period. I am delighted to have him, he has my complete trust and respect. I do not think he was undecided in his ruling today, for example. I wonder if one of the prongs of the defense strategy is to completely overwhelm this Judge. I know JP is a mighty man, willing to work 24/7 and weekends, but even with staff and law clerks he must be on overload.

I think HHJP thrives on this level of "overload." His nearly constant jiggling in his chair shows me how much energy he has, lol. The only times I've notice him NOT jiggle is when someone - usually Baez - says something so...out there (to be nice)...it seems to momentarily stun him & he stops. But then he gets that brain going again and the chair starts to shake, too.
