Hope Sykes, 19, pleaded no contest to drug traffickingwhich could mean as much as 15 years in prison for her part in an undercover drug sting .
The audio tape, obtained from PCSD by The Bald Truth, Hope Sykes launches into what sounds a lot like a Misty jailhouse whine: entitled bad girl, teen brat tirade against any judge, even one who might go easy and sentence her as a first youthful offender to boot camp AND drug rehab.
Id rather go to fing prison! Thats fed up! she tells her mother on the jail phone after court Wednesday. Im not going to boot camp. Ill tell you, they think Im bad now, wait til I get out of that!
Hope is no longer alleged;
shes guilty, a convicted drug trafficker who admitted selling illegal prescription painkillers with Ronald, Misty, Tommy and Donna Brock.
Hope, you screw up on anything at this point in the game, you will get to do 15 years in prison,
said Katrina Belcher, Hope's mother, who owns a tree service where Ronald Cummings sometimes worked.
But Sykes keeps griping, upset that her sentencing date has been pushed back until the end of this fing month again!
Its because there are too many criminals, says Belcher.
Too many criminals my a**, says Sykes. Its because people just dont like us.
No, baby, says her mother, Youre lucky you go in April. Ron got May and Misty got June. You know Misty qualifies for the same thing you do?
I dont see how, says Hope.
Her mother says the judge doesnt look as if he likes Misty, that he aint got no use for her.
Did you see how he acted towards me? asks Hope. (If he asks,) if I got a job, I aint gonna stand up and say, Yeah, I was a stripper. I aint gonna do it. He acted like he dont like me either.
Judge Larue didnt eyeball you like he was doing Misty, she says.
Belcher sounds like she doubts Hope understood what she was pleading to, that no contest is, in effect like pleading guilty, that youre not contesting guilt, without having to admit it.
I didnt plead No Contest, says Hope. My lawyer plead no contest.
The judge asked, Do you understand, when I get ready to sentence you, you could be looking at mandatory 30 years years? says her mother.
So
was I supposed to have plead Not guilty?
You have to do what your attorney advised you to do, but I surely thought you understood. She sat there and talked to you
She said the cops had you. On the video, in the back, when you got back in the car, you had the pills in your hand.
I didnt have no pills in my fing hand! Hope explodes.
Well, at one point in the game, according to what they got on video, you had pills in your hand.
NO! Hope roars.
You had pills in your hand
BULLSHT! NO! Not at one point in the fing game did I have no pills. She must have got you ****ed up or something because there is no pills.
Her mother says Ron's lawyer Shoemaker said theyd seen the videos from the front and rear.
They have me sitting in the back
says Hope. Didnt anybody see I (had) pills in my hand from the front.
They have another video of you in the back, says her mother.
I watched the back view of the (camera), says Hope, and it only shows Misty having the fing pills because Misty cupped two pills, (claimed) the dope boys fk'ed em over.
Hope's mother begins to wonder why her lawyer plead Hope if she claims shes not guilty.
I dont understand why
either, says Hope, because theyre not going to pin no 15 years on no fing pill I aint touched.
Ronald (Cummings, Haleighs father) said hed testify on your behalf, says Belcher.
He already did, says Hope. Were 10 steps ahead of the f'ing game.
