How can the local community help find Haleigh now?

  • #41
At this point very little has come forth. We have a story of the security guard about the children being left in the car while Ron was working. We have a few who state that Ron is a royal .............. and we have "rumors" that Ron was seen at various places intoxicated prior to showing up at work. Can't really discuss them though and LE aren't about to admit that they are clueless so this investigation is pretty much stalled, probably indefinitely until we all just give up and go away. Pathetic.

People have to go to work and feed their kids and mow their grass and go to church and find a Halloween costume etc etc. It just seems unfair to ask that they devote any more time to Haleigh. Ultimately, that's her family's responsibility.[/QUO

I mean no disrespect at all , but I have children to feed and take care of and I am 1000's of miles away, yet I am feverishly trying daily as are so many others not even in the area, to find some answers . Haleigh is now in my heart, has been since this happened. I don't understand how asking a community that this happened in to try and help is unfair by any means . And I SERIOUSLY doubt that they would feel burdened by "devoting any more time to Haleigh " . Sorry, that just hit a nerve.

I just don't think the drug trafficking would have been noticed by police if the added pressure of Haleigh missing did not come into play.

...Not like it's a web of genius devious drug dealers here. It's a small community, three players, in my opinion, counts.

Drug dealers have to be very cunning and devious in order to be "successful"
in their form of employment. I think that just the fact that Satsuma was thrust into thousands of people's living rooms that LE maybe felt that they were under pressure to appear as if they were on the ball. Forgive me if I appear a bit tired of the game playing but I am. This case should have been investigated by the SBI at the very least.

Every community has a personality. And I believe the status of the Satsuma area is that people live there in order to be left alone. They don't want to get involved in anyone else's business and they don't want anyone involved in their business.

A child is lost, possibly dead. There can be sadness shown in a memorial but afterwards people there go home and tend to their own lives and problems.
I believe that many people in the area have something to hide, their own skeletons in their own closet. They keep to themselves and do not either trust LE or believe LE can't make a positive difference in their lives.

As far as people stepping forward to tell what they know about Haleigh, perhaps there have been several who have and I doubt we will know until charges are brought and arrests are made, who said what.

Also, and this may sound cruel, but there is always the possibility not many in the area are surprised or shocked by Haleigh disappearance or possible death. Perhaps neighbors know this was to be expected sooner than later. And that, is to me a very sad thought.

I agree with the idea of a written survey. But I am sorry to say, I doubt many of the papers would be returned in companison with the case in Portland. JMO

IMHO.. LE has proven they don't want any HELP..The question IMHO is WHY? Putnam County needs a Buford Pusser...JMHO

I totally agree with you mommyofthreekidz5, if people had come forward in the beginning we may have been watching a trial by now. The fact that they don't want to be burdened this far down the road is just sad.

If her dad was even remotely 🤬🤬🤬🤬-ish it is the nature of his surroundings/environment to stay silent. Haleigh was never courted by the press like other children are.

I appears that the only effective press was when Geraldo and Greta were in Satsuma. But, they asked too many pertinent questions and make everyone uneasy and wore out their welcome pretty quickly, Geraldo more than Greta, LOL. But, I have to give credit to Geraldo, he did ask the questions that most of us wanted to ask. Greta's interview brought out quite a few points too.

There does appear to be an aura of fear in that community. Just from the outside looking in.

I hope this isn't true, but there's a nagging part of me that thinks it is. LE made it very clear early on, that they didn't appreciate outside help. Sent some searchers on their way, told townspeople to not search for Haleigh, & told the 2 sides of the family, to not communicate. I don't get this now, any more than I did then. The only thing that makes sense to me is #1, they're scared of the truth, or #2, they don't want somebody else getting credit for finding Haleigh, or solving this case. IMO, it looks like LE has made this about their own egos. So...I honestly don't think the community would be allowed to do anything. & really...i think residents have probably tried, but been turned back. MOO.

Oh how it pains me to say this, but LE seems to be acting as supiously as the other players. I know we are trying hard not to think this and to give them the benefit of the doubt, and I know how dedicated and honorable all of the lawmen in my circle of family and friends are, but something has just not been right here. I'm so sorry if I'm wrong here, just being honest... Of course this is just my own opinion, and I could be wrong.:(:(

I for one appreciate your honesty. I too think that there is another agenda involved here that is being protected. Don't be surprised when Ron walks out the jailhouse door!

I just can't blame or condemn an entire community based on what likely were the actions of just a few people.

I agree greenbean. Unfortunately, when a town/city becomes known to an entire nation because of the mysterious disappearance of a young child, a mystery that nineteen months later remains unsolved, I don't think it's unnatural for people to look at, ask & wonder certain things, for example; how can/do the locals simply go on like business as usual? Are they afraid for their own children/what do they tell their own children when they ask about HaLeigh? I recall a local who posts here saying at one time that the community wasn't concerned for their own children's safety because the general consensus was/is that HaLeigh's disappearance was an inside job - if that's true than wouldn't it be even more important and neccessary for the community to stand up for this child? Not directing my post/questions directly at you greenbean - just some of the many questions that cross my own mind and wondering if they do for anyone else too...

I won't be surprised in the least. On the off-chance he makes it to prison I don't think he will stay there long.

Please do not misunderstand--I am not blaming the community! I am not in their shoes so I will not throw stones at anyone who has reason to believe that what information they have would not be acted upon and might even get them in hot water just for bringing it up. I am only trying to say there are ways for a citizen to make a statement without standing on a soapbox in the town square--get someone in there who will ask questions and keep the sources confidential, and maybe things will be brought to light that lead to the reason for the vigorous cover-up by so many and in particular a person who claims he was at work when the crime supposedly went down.

LE asked the townspeople to stay quiet, and the people took that very, very seriously. That bothers me to no end!

Wonder if there is any chance getting Cobra or TM to come back? they probably wouldn't touch it with a 50 ft. pone!

Hi lone, by any chance do you know if this security guard reported this to his superiors or DCF? I'd really love to know that as I'd be even more interested in knowing, if he didn't report it to anyone, why he didn't? TIA!

I don't know what was said by LE to TM but Cobra was banned from Putnam County.

JMO but I would hate to see Cobra back in Satsuma - TIM ABSOLUTELY - but not Cobra. I'm sorry but there's just wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much drama with Cobra and it took/takes away from HaLeigh! (again jmo...)

No one is saying that the entire community is holding back here, but IMO there are certainly someone who has seen or heard something that was going on at Haleigh's home or Ron's work location. I can not and will not believe otherwise.

Thing is, if what we suspect about LE is true, could be that people in the community have come forward, and LE could be kicking the info under the rug. Just my opinion.

Hi Nomore, you do have a good point. That whole "Cobra" time was so dramatic! And poor Tim, he tried to do so much, and in my opinion seemed very unappreciated. From his point of view, he would be crazy to go into that mess again! But he is so dedicated to the missing children. I can see him thinking about doing it. God bless him.
