How can the local community help find Haleigh now?

Thanks Nonni, you recognize my great mind. Not many do. LOL.

I can see and feel there is plenty of suspicion about LE in the area. That they are bumbling the investigation; they are hiding something; they aren't even close to solving this case or prepared to bring charges or make arrests.

The thing is, we don't really know what the cops have, who they have talked with; or even if they have a theory, and that is the way LE has to have it.

I suppose it is my background as a reporter that won't allow me to believe LE is not doing its job when it comes to this case. I think the suspicion rises because we are left in the dark. We have so many questions and see so many inconsistencies as to what we think we know and what has been leaked.

I feel comfortable with LE being so tight lipped about this case because I have first hand experience of how important it is that an investigation not become public. It needs to be protected and sealed.

I believe there are several people who will be charged and because of that, LE can not allow anything they know to become public, unless it would help the case.

There is a web of lies and covering up that has been woven among the principals in Haleigh's fate. If LE steps forward and releases information, facts or evidence they will give these unnamed suspects an edge to further cover their involvement.
I cannot convience anyone to see this as I do. All of us have been feeling frustrated and outraged. But it is my opinion that this case is not over, it is not cold it just needs more time to come to a conclusion. Haleigh deserves justice and that will take time.

Of course, I could be totally wrong and for that, I will take my licks. JMO

Thank you for your insight! You are exactly right!

I agree with the written survey idea. I would put them in mailboxes in the area where Haleigh lived, as well as the area where the Croslins used to live and perhaps the area around the Mondex. They would/could be totally anonymous and mailed back to LE. Perhaps LE has already done this, I don't know. I think I heard that they had interviewed residents of many of the homes in the area, but this would allow total anonymity.

I must say, if it had been my child, I would have been forming what group of people, friends, relatives I could to look for Haleigh in the wooded areas and around the banks of the St. Johns diligently for the last 19 months. If I couldn't gather a group of people, I'd go out there myself as often as I could.

Hunting season is once again approaching and I would go to every outlet that sells licenses/guns/ammunition/gear and provide flyers about Haleigh and ask that everyone be vigilent when out hunting - look around, look down. I might also provide flyers to those who own 4-wheelers, who are forever riding in the woods and along isolated trails; perhaps include the mudbogging crowd and fishermen who might notice something along the banks of the St. John's River. I would include pictures, giving examples of what one might look for in the way of partial bones, hair and clothing and/or the color of a blanket that may have come from Haleigh's home. I know that is painfully blunt, but someone could see something and not know what they are seeing.

I would also go out on a local PR campaign about the reward money. I don't know if the reward is only for information leading to the prosecution of those involved with the crime or perhaps it also includes a reward for finding Haleigh. If it doesn't include a reward for finding Haleigh, I would certainly see about getting that added. Perhaps it might give some incentive to search during their free time.

I think there is plenty that could be done to try to find Haleigh. Futile perhaps, but I know I'd personally feel better searching and never giving up.

ETA: I hope I haven't repeated anyone's ideas here. I've only had a chance to read the first page. :::Painfully behind and trying to catch up:::

I don't think any of the players have been interrogated like I've seen people interrogated in my career. Tommy? Maybe! I personally think that any of them that have lied should be brought in and interrogated about their lies and that includes GGM Sykes and Teresa Neves. Put them in a pressure cooker and somebody is going to crack.

TN will just talk to "John" about it... (JM-what are YOU hiding?) JMHO!

I just hope RC doesn't come out being given some status of "hero" by the system for giving evidence on someone else. What a pure and extreme mockery of justice.

Brace yourself Nonni, I feel that that is exactly what is going to happen, sad, I know, downright disgusting actually.

IMO..Folks lives have "quieted down" (with the exception of the ones in jail) and returned to normal...WHO DOES THAT??? Folks WHO KNOW.....and are keeping their mouth SHUT..Hoping this will all ...."go away"

Unless this community ...this community that has experienced a homicide in their VERY midst..DEMANDS justice for this child..DEMANDS answers from the LE ...DEMANDS that this case DOES NOT grow cold..DEMANDS their LE to apply pressure to find the guilty..or the voters next visit to the voting polls will make some changes...

I do not know if the Satsuma community HAS..ALREADY..made/ARE KEEPIN UP these efforts (since I do not live there, ) or not....But there is something to be said about strength in numbers..I am hoping for arrest/arrests made in this case...
obstruction of justice..to name 1....

Excellent idea Sosueme! I so wish that I lived in the area because I would start printing and distributing today! I feel so useless here in Maine... JMO ~

Hi friend, Happy Labor Day! I just read your post and couldn't help but wonder if LE has ever obtained and publicized a description of the blanket? Or publicized a description of what GGMS put on Haleigh that evening, it could possibly be what she was wearing when she was removed from the MH? You know, I can't help but think that any details at all would help these hunters with being aware of what they may find during their time out in the woods. But, I have not seen anything to describe what may have been left in the area by the one who took Haleigh. I fully understand that LE just can not share critical information about this case, but I also understand that the public needs to at the very least be aware of a piece of cloth, a piece of blanket, a trash bag, anything at all that could jog their memory and make them realize enough so that that little piece of blanket sticking out of the ground makes them stop and take a closer look. In a lot of missing child cases all this information is shared with the searchers and locals so that they can be aware of certain criteria. I just do not see how this kind of information would harm the investigation at all.

Wonder if there is any chance getting Cobra or TM to come back? they probably wouldn't touch it with a 50 ft. pone!

There isn't a word in your post, SoSueMe, that isn't right on. Every method you have pointed out and explained would be worthy of trying to find Haleigh or any clue or evidence.

I wish there was a way for you to speak to each and every person in that county about your ideas. Excellent post. :Jumpie:

I second that, AZ. Sue's suggestions are all simple, straightforward, and practical. And because I agree with you about the close-mouthed nature of the average PC resident, I think the emphasis on the reward is of particular importance.

Hey back friend ::::wavin' at ya:::: I think it wouldn't hurt to release that information either. I mean if they see something of color sticking out of the ground that doesn't belong in the area, it just might be something. You know, the corner of a pink or blue blanket, anything! Also, TN said there was something missing that Haleigh always had with her. I think she debunked the nebulizer as being the item, so I'm wondering it might have been a toy, a doll or perhaps her necklace we've seen in so many of her pictures. Maybe just something that the hunters, woodsmen, property owners or searchers might keep an eye out for, you know?

As for the reward, if someone were unemployed or looking for extra money and not doing anything on an afternoon, weekend or just had some free time, maybe it would give them incentive to look around. Although, if it's true that PCSO turned TES away, I'm not sure they want people searching. :waitasec: Still, if you're in any of the areas of interest, it couldn't hurt to look around while you're there.

SoSueMe, I love your Idea, I do not live that close about 825 miles south of there, But I will gladly get my printing agency to print flyers, and any locals up to passing them and hanging them up with me. The last weekend of the month is good for me.

HI Kimster,
It was for both cases, something to do with donations etc as TM went back down there after he did an initial search but LE wouldn't let them search.

I don't think it had a darn thing to do with donations...TES has a group in Florida, Tim's not going back because of the "crazy" people there - ya know, the Anthony's and the Cummings. And after what they put him through - I don't blame him.

ETA: Even though we all know if there was a case he thought he could help, he'd be there in a heart beat.
