Just a reminder to all the folks evacuating: Take all your automobiles with you. Please don't leave them behind. Have some consideration for the rest of us who have to pay higher insurance premiums to cover the cost of replacing your abandoned vehicles. TIA.

Hi....there are a number of high rise apartments/condos along the beach towns of North and South Carolina. Does anyone have experience with "riding out a hurricane" in one of these buildings?
I googled articles and read for an hour. I thought I would share one of the best....written primarily for the Miami Beach community....

Should you ride out a hurricane in a high-rise?

Looks like things are starting to deteriorate in Morehead City NC...on Weather Channel.

Those crazy newscasters trying to hang on while the wind whips around getting plummeted by rain is starting...don't understand why anyone would want to do this.

I agree. With webcams available, it's effective story-telling to make use of them rather than sending a crew into the dangerous conditions for live coverage. Times have changed - upgrade!

I agree. Even though i love watching the coverage of people in the storms I personally would not recommend it. The main reason is flying debri. It always amazes me that more newscasters dont get beamed in the head with a chunk of something flying around.
