Is it the same one that's on the Weather Channel? The guy on the dock by the water that can hardly stand up in the wind? They need to put a rope on him at least...before he ends up in the water!

Thank goodness he is standing by a tree now

Ever heard of lightning? You are a MUCH better conductor of electricity than a tree. That is why the lightning will jump from the tree to any person nearby for a fast final 5 or 6 feet to the ground.

And that's assuming the tree doesn't fall on you.

This person is my favorite Periscope person who shares live videos he takes when he travels to all the major hurricanes. Should be some good videos he will be sharing. I think he used to be a weatherman with a news station. He has lots of good equipment and is very knowledgeable.

I let my cats out during Sandy. They had to "do their business". It was just before dark and the winds had died down, but when I looked out again a few minutes later and saw water flowing from all directions towards our house, I ran outside to call them. One cat came running, the other cat we couldn't find, but an hour later we heard him screaming from atop my husband's boat that was pulled out of the water and in the driveway. Hubby had to go swim to get him.

Honest, I'm a good pet mom. We thought the storm was over when the winds died. :(
I believe you dear. You’re a good pet mom. Good thing hubby saved the day. ❤️
Here ya go, just in case you might need it.

I just looked back up and he's gone. Just the tree. Hope he didn't blow away! I wondered if he has a wife of mom. He must be giving them a heart attack!

It looks like the Hurricane Irma flag:

I grew up going to the Mardi Gras in New Orleans.......giving anything than modest beer to an already irate crowd will only make thing uglier......it's like weapon maintaince, 1 or 2 drops of lubricant are good and recommended; a LOT more can just gum up the works!

oh my

I loved Bourbon street -- flew out there a lot in my wild days!

It is fabulous dirty crusie crazy drinking - like a real life Disney except is real!

Mardi Gra I never did -- I would have a lot of issues with waiting forever a cocktail !!

but man the place is magic -- the people are increible (locals) there is always music somewhere going

Hello from the night owls from Australia praying for you guys, stay safe.

I worry about youse guys, as everything in your outback appears to be toxic. And not to mention the stuff that will just plain eat you (the salties). Here in the States, not so much.

Though after the storm, in that coastal area, the city folk may have to deal with some unwelcome toxic guests, like some poisonous snakes, far enough South down the coast maybe alligators.

While I realize that in a modern Australian city, one is not likely to be taken out by critters (Australian "wildlife" is a whole 'nother story), your country has its share of thing that bite or sting to no good effect!

Good on ya! Thanks for your concern.
