“BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) — A dam breach in Boiling Spring Lakes is causing major flooding. Police say the dam at the Big Lake on Alton Lennon Road is failing, forcing water over and underneath the dam.

They say a public works crew was trying to do a manual breach. Police do say that they issued a mandatory evacuation for residents in the area around Cherokee Road. Some people listened, but others did not.”

“The town of Hope Mills, home to about 15,000 people in Cumberland County, emailed a statement to the press late Saturday night encouraging people to seek safe shelter. The warning was for people who live near Hope Mills Lake and downstream of the dam.“We expect flood waters are going to overtake the dam possibly sometime Sunday and wanted to notify people tonight,”

This is so frightening to see what is happening there.

I continue to pray for everyone there, residents and all of the rescuers and officials helping.

My hearts are with them.

Florence forecast: Dangerous flooding to expand into western North Carolina and southwest Virginia

"The National Weather Service warned of a “catastrophic, life-threatening flash flooding risk” in much of North Carolina, northern South Carolina and southwest Virginia on Sunday.

By Monday and Tuesday, the torrents lift north through West Virginia and western Virginia before finally exiting the Northeast by Wednesday.

The floodwaters are expected to push many rivers to all-time highs and, toward the mountains of western North Carolina and southwestern Virginia, could spur life-threatening landslides."

funny

I just realized why the dialog is seeming so insane.

She is like me -- whatever crosses her mind out it comes from her mouth-- just oozes out -- wherever /what crosses the mind out it comes -- all over the place ---that's funny

their conversation is all over the place!!!

rambling yes that is the word that comes to mind

ramble ramble and ramble!!!!!!!!

and then ramble

also somewhat familiar to being in a car with the aunt and uncle -- they were ancient AND practically deaf -- would have been a great SNL skit

at family gatherings we would negotiate and compromise as to who had to sit right next to him

Among the dead are a mother and her seven-month baby, who were were killed when a tree fell on their home in Wilmington, North Carolina on Friday.

A 71-year-old man died when he was blown down by high winds while checking on his dogs, while in South Carolina two died from carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a generator inside their home.

Authorities in the North Carolina city of Fayetteville ordered residents living near two rivers to evacuate with record flooding expected.

"If you are refusing to leave during this mandatory evacuation, you need to do things like notify your legal next of kin because the loss of life is very, very possible," Mayor Mitch Colvin said.
