"Maria has emerged back over water... WNW going over large terrain helped weaken. May slowly bounce back. Afternoon GFS/EURO keep her just off the mainland. But too close to call. Timing of Jose fading away and upper dynamics could bump her west. Lots to watch.*www.spaghettimodels.com*/ Mikes Weather Page APP"

Ugh, 2 weeks ago I dealt with multiple family members scattered across Florida during Hurricane Irma. Then, Jose decides to dance in the waters to the east of New Jersey (and he's still there, it's windy outside for him being so far offshore).

Now Maria is on her way up the coast? This is getting me sick.

Maria, please stay away from New Jersey, you biotch.

Yes, my dear, I feel your pain. I'm hoping for out to sea....

Some people in Culebra were complaining that they did not wanted to leave their boat houses, it's like WTF, a Hurricane is coming right for us, move!!

The winds are starting and sounds horrible outside. I'm locked down in my room with my dog, with all the windows closed.

I'll keep you guys updated, as long as the power and internet signal allows me to.

Archangel85... we are thinking of you! Last post was 11:20 last night, and last log in here at WS was 11:33 pm yesterday/last night.

:praying: that you and yours are ok!

Me too ... been thinking of Angel all day. But she told me she had plenty of books (what a trooper). Anxious awaiting your return.

5:00 NHC Update: Maria has decreased substantially to 110 mph and 957 mb. The NHC forecast shows a slight jog East at the latest point in the cone. The spaghetti model shows some slight diversity from prior forecast at that same point.

Keep an eye on it. GFS and EURO models running an out to sea version, while Canadian ran North Carolina landfall.

From what I am understanding it depends on Jose?

Correct....if Jose can keep the high ridge from building up then Maria can follow out to sea. The high ridge typically dominates and drives the hurricane. A high trumps a low. So the high ridge is stronger than the hurricane (low pressure).

For the rest of my life, I have learned so much from you :tyou: and I will always remember a high Trumps a low ( analogous to playing bridge and playing Spades card games ;-) )

I have family in the DR in Punta Cana.

Hoping for a graze and much love to those in Porto Rico that were hit!

Spellbound, have you heard anything from Geevee, BFMD, and now Bootsctr? I heard from Bootsctr about 2 weeks ago but now nothing. I am worrying myself sick! Sorry folks, these are people from Hurricane Harvey.
