Our youngest daughter called to check on us this morning again. She said our grandson is in Waycross waiting for the hurricane to pass. As soon as possible he will be out checking for downed powerlines. He works for an engineering company.

Even though our daughter..son in law and two grandsons lives in northwest Georgia around Atlanta both grandsons travel the state. So T..was already inspecting powerlines in Waycross.

Their dad is in management with a large power company in the Atlanta area.

He told our daughter he is worried for T about LIVE powerlines being down in the water. He said one small leak in the work boots worn by the power inspectors can be very dangerous. He has tragically seen it occur around Atlanta since he has been employed in this profession for over 32 years.

So of course he worries even more now since his own youngest son will be on the ground after Michael roars through.

Even though T is supplied workbooks through his employer they aren't taking any chances.

So they are traveling today to where he is so they can give T new top of the line boots that shields the employee from being electrocuted should they step in water where the down line may be live and submerged.

I know I am blabbing idle stuff but I am trying to stay busy posting rather than dwelling on what may be headed our way. Sorry. Just ignore me.

OMG!!! this has never happened before. They just broke in on TV saying that a hurricane warning has been issued for the county that borders right next to ours. We live inland in SW Georgia. Its come on twice already. I have never seen that happen ever. It is through 10/9 7pm.

Now I am back to being terrified for my loved ones in our area and for my hubby..fur babies and neighbors.

I am praying for everyone. Please continue to pray for all. This is a highly unusual hurricane.

Doesn't look like Jacksonville will get the really strong winds but it's a hurricane, which we all know means we don't know.

OBE....I lived in your county when I was younger. I will be thinking of you and your family. Do you have a generator? Electricity goes off so fast here....with no hurricane.

Hi Lato. Thank you.

Wow how interesting. Our county is one of the fastest growing in the state for new residents and new businesses. It truly is a wonderful beautiful place to live unlike the county next to ours.

Yes we have three generators. We learned our lesson in 1994 when hurricane Alberto hovered over us causing a 500 year flood and we were without power for 5 days in very hot July.

Our home was surrounded with water with no way to get in and out. We have never been in a flood zone or even close so all of it was surreal. Thank God though the water was never in our home. It did completely destroy my business located in another area.

It took all counties affected over a decade to rebuild and overcome. Loss of life combined was around 65 iirc.

Hubby is helping our neighbors tie down things or put them inside of storage outbuildings.

Thinking of everyone and praying for the very best outcome for all.

CARIIS, they are still working on our power here in WP...matter of fact, our entire neighborhood is torn up right now as they are working on it. During Charley, we lost power for over two weeks. Just as we got it back on (basically long enough to do laundry), France's hit and we lost it again for about 10 days. Our area was pretty devastated here. During Irma last year, our power was only out 4-5 days.

Please stay safe everyone, and please check in here after the storm if it has hit your area!
