Hurricane sandy

My pride and joy (my boat) is gone.

Ouch, LINative, that really bites hard. Sounds like you're taking it in as much stride as possible, though, which is good. Stay positive.

Well, Truth, now that we know you survived, I'd just like to say WHAT the HE!! were you THINKING?!?!
:)

I worship mother earth everyday so I knew she would watch over me.

An old saying amongst us:

"Why so sad, your tears are no match for mine. For I am eternal sea and you are a drowning man"

The sea takes what it wants, when it wants and does not feel bad about doing so.

That is b.s. and SO rude!!! Did they take all of it???? I heard on the news yesterday that over 70% of the gas stations on LI were without electricity so couldn't pump gas. Just remember, Karma is a ...........ya know......

I just spoke with my neighbors. My one neighbor chased some guy out of his yard trying to steal his propane tank last night. We will be taking turns waching the neighborhood. After I donated $2k worth of food, water, and medical supplies to my local salvation army....then someone steals from me? From me?
I am at my breaking point. SOrry but I needed to vent here because my shrinks office was closed today because he dont got power. Yes I goto a shrink.

....no leadership....:furious:

So sorry for all that must endure this. Peace and safety! Stay strong, don't lose faith, please.

Obama, Bellone, Christie, Cuomo, Mangano, Bloomberg are all doing a great job. We got plenty of great leadership. I also got plenty of scumbags by me. Obama isnt gonna prevent someone from syphoning my gasoline. CPH would though.

....I don't see any great leadership but that's my impression from what I'm watching, hearing, and seeing.

Prayers to my friends and family on L.B.I., CT, Staten Island, Poconos, Manhatten.

Davis Park, Fire Island got crushed. The 7 houses to my west are gone. I guess I am just lucky.
What the heck were you doing out there - looking for bodies?

Sadly, they can't even bring in FEMA trailers, not to mention gasoline and heavy equipment/trucks to start repairing electric and natural gas lines, until the roads are cleared of debri, sand, and muck. There is so much to do and everyone is doing the best they can. The devastation has hit vast numbers of towns and cities...this is going to be a very long recovery.

Private groups/non profits and federal and state officials have been boots on the ground for days...there are just too many people affected to get to everyone's needs by day four. At this point, coordinating all the parties (injured parties, Fed, state, local, private groups and private citizens) is the biggest challenge.

LINative, keep us posted. But your recommendation of donating money is exactly what is needed right now. Sending thoughts for a warm and dry weekend.

The amount of looting and stealing going on right now is insane. The National Guard and state troopers have sealed off the evacuated areas but then the looters come in by boat.

I saw a report last night that a 1500lb generator was stolen from a home in Belle Terre - it was bolted down and all. Must have needed at least 4-5 people for that job.

Lock and load because it's getting bad out there ... and with this new winter storm coming we are going to be back to square one.

It doesn't matter who the OTHER GUY is - vote for them. I am voting for Mitt. If he was already Pres, and Obama was running against him I would vote for Obama.

note* In Suffolk County when it comes time to vote for District Attorney there will be no OTHER GUY, because Spota and his cronies are seeing to it the pesky Term Limit Law will be set aside, and Heaven help anyone that wants to run against him as an Indpendent. Tommy will get 5 Party endorsements.

Watching the press conferences this morning. Andy Cuomo did a great job by dressing down to make it look like he was in the trenches. He made sure he had workman boots on just for the effect. No tie, or course.

Andy said LIPA is regulated by NYS. They will be held accountable for their actions, or in this case inaction. Andy, WHERE WERE THE REGULATORS BEFORE THIS HAPPENED? More super silly nonsense.

Then we have the tankers sitting in the harbors. Too much debris in the water. Coast Guard shut down the water inlets. Back in the early 1970's when we had the gas shortages (man made) there was no debris in the water. Come on Andy, who do you think you are B -Sing?

Everyone made sure to thank Obama for his assistance.........LOL. What assistance?

Chuck Schumer didn't miss an opportunity to take some credit for ????????

Mayor Bloomberg finally gets the message: The Marathon is a BAD IDEA. A resident of Creedmor or Pilgrim could have told you that, but Bloomy doesn;t seem to get it without his arm being twisted. No problemo, Mayor Mike, you can always do the weekend in Bermuda......you should have no problem gassing up your Jet.

Jack Offs will tell you the storm was unexpected. I stopped watching TV getting tired of news stories predicting the storm had the possibility of being the worse storm ever.

Citibank called the other day offering their assistance as I was a VALUED Gold Customer. I told the guy to go......F....himself and the bank, too.

Told him I was a 25 year old customer with a nice chunk of change in the bank. I asked him why his bank was charging me 29.99% on my Frequent Flyer credit cards when I was I told him if I charged someone that kind of interest, especially in Suffolk County that TomSpota would have me indicted for Usury.

Give me a break. If it wasn't that I had a lot of automatic payments, pension checks, etc. tied into Citibank and I am too friggen lazy to change it I would be gone.

I also have an Equity Loan I started at sub-prime. I now pay off the prnicipal and interest and have no means to use it again. They want to give me another loan on top of the one I have. Of course the interest rates will change.

sorry for venting, but thank God I am solvent and expect to be until I pass into the other world.

REMEMBER THAT COME THIS TUESDAY, VOTE FOR THE OTHER GUY NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE!!!

Yes, LINative and all of you - keep venting here as much as you want! The West Coast is praying for speedy recovery and most of us are sending money. Best to all of you and hang in there...let us know if there is anything we can do...we are far away but still your brothers and sisters and are with you in spirit.

Just wondering how y'all feel about being able to vote - or not...What are you being told? How will you get to your polling places and will they be open? I heard something about military trucks but I'm not sure how that is going to work. Seems like this election has become even more of an event, especially for you on the East Coast.
