Okay, I'm way behind again and apologize if this shows up in another discussion.

I remember when Wilma said she saw the girls at 11:30 and then changed the time later to be more in line with the camera time. She may have been right to start with. BTW, did LE check the actual time out themselves or just go by what the owner told them?

When Wilma looked out the window and saw the girls riding by, was she looking out the same window E & L looked out while they were fixing their drink? Does that window have the same angle and line that the camera did? In other words, does the camera and the window have the same view of the street that the girls were riding on when they were taped?

If the girls saw someone while they were fixing their drinks and it lined up with the camera, LE should be looking back to 11:00 or so on the film and see who might have been on it then?

Wylma stated from the beginning that she last saw Lyric and Elizabeth at about 12:15 pm on Friday, July 13, 2012. It is incorrect that Wylma changed the time she last saw the girls to be more in line with the camera time. Wylma said from the beginning that she last saw the girls at 12:15.

The girls left for the bike ride at 11:30. The last time Wylma saw them was about 12:15 behind Lederman's.

OT: They got him! :woohoo:

It has been one exhausting week! Just horrendous. Crowds of celebration
and thanks have gathered all across Boston to Watertown. Things now
opening up. But its going to take time to heal... offices open 8:00am Monday
morning.

Oddly it snowed here near CR today! Colder than a ______________!:banghead:

Thanks to Websleuths and Salem for opening a thread on the Boston situation.
Believe it or not that helped a number of us keep informed and pass info on, in
real time.

Take care. The girls still very much on my mind --- hoping for progress!

No, she didn't. It was 11.30 until the cctv came out, then the story changed.

If I had a suspicious mind I would be wondering about that

From Nancy Grace, date 17 July 2012, heavily snipped by me -

GRACE: Wylma, when you saw them right away that day what was your last image of them?

COOK: Just the normal image, don`t be gone very long and we realized they left 11:30. By 12:30, we were not happy because they weren`t back. And that`s when Kelly, my 12-year-old grandson from Heather`s house, the dad was home so we went searching right away and by 2:00, Heather couldn`t find them either so she went straight to the police station and the police went out right away.

And so it was at 11:30, they asked me if they could go for a short bike ride, and I said yes. And they`ve done this millions of times. And they`ve never, never went that far. I could go outside and yell their names, and they would eventually hear me.

We are taking your calls. Out to Ms. Wylma Cook. Ms. Cook is the grandmother of 8-year-old Elizabeth and 10-year-old Lyric. Ms. Cook, you were taking me through that morning. So they asked to go and ride their bikes, and that`s about what time?

COOK: 11:30.

GRACE: 11:30.

COOK: And Lyric knew that we were going to be heading for home at 1:30 because her mom got off at 2:00.

Tammy on 16 July 2012, speaking Jane Velez Mitchell -

When my mother and I, the grandmother who was babysitting, when my mother and I went on our search for them, and this was at about a quarter to 3 -- and keep in mind the last they were seen was at 11:30 a.m., when they told mom they were going on the bike ride. So that is the last time they were for sure seen. And now, it`s going on to -- it`s getting close to being a quarter to 3.

For the record, I don't watch NG or JVM. They both scream too much for me and I can't take it.

It sounds like Tammy changed the time not Wylma from these interviews. Both interviews were by different interviewers with their own agendas (Sensationalism and high viewer ratings) and you have them interviewing different people, not the same person in the first interview. I'm gonna go with what Wylma said. . . I believe her. Not that Aunt Tammy had some nefarious intention, but I think she thought she could handle the questioning better than Wylma. However, Wylma was the one watching the children and I trust she knew when she last saw the girls.

Respectfully, Wylma was the one in charge of watching the girls, or at least that is my impression. Do you have a link to the list of people the house was filled with?

1. Wylma.
2. Drew.
3. ?

ETA: I do not understand what you are implying. Not being snarky! Are you saying the house was filled with people and because of that Wylma had NO CLUE when she last saw the girls?

Unique, my apologies if my comment about NG and JVM offended you. That certainly was not my intention. I should not have even commented about NG and JVM.

I only meant to imply that Wylma's times she gave did indeed jive with what LE eventually ended up with publishing as the last official time as the girls being last seen - 12:15.

:blushing: In all fairness...Tammy wasn't the one being interviewed, it was Wylma herself.

Also, in the interview I posted with Drew and Heather not that long ago...the one that was a 2 part interview, Heather was home and Kelly had left at 12 to go find them...so the 12:15 time as last seen, was the CCTV.

IMO no one saw those girls after 11:30 when they left until the CCTV captured them. And in Heather's interview she didn't become concerned enough to go looking until AFTER Kelly got back and SHE stated 1:00 was when she went out to look. After an hour of not finding them is when she went to the PD.

#3 would be Heather according to her interview I posted with Drew. Dan wasn't there (I think you maybe meant to type Drew)...but he supposedly didn't come until 12:30.

Thank you 3CK! From Sapphire's post it reads to me that the 2nd interview is posted first is with Wylma 7/17 by NG (maybe clearing up Aunt Tammy's confusion?). The first interview was on 07/16 conducted by JVM with Aunt Tammy. By the 21st, Wylma was no longer talking to the media, if I remember correctly :banghead: nor Misty or Dan.

Kelly isn't old enough to drive is he? So he was searching by foot, I assume. So very confusing. I suppose Heather needed someone to clean her house every day because of all the parties she has.... :moo:

Do we know if Wylma called LE, but Heather took it upon herself to personally go the police station and speak to one-on-one to Kent Smock to make sure the girls' disappearance would be taken seriously thinking they might have just blown Wylma's call as an over-worried grandmother? Would love to be able to read the police reports, but likely they are just as confusing as the media interviews. :banghead:

Thought these might be helpful for folks revisiting the initial timeline info. MOO on the Wylma time given as 11:30 on NG (HLN): Wylma was interviewed on July 17, 2013. THe articles linked above are from the first two days after the girls went missing. I think Wylma was referring to when the girls were told they could go riding. I think she left out during that interview that she had set eyes on them around 12:15 as they rode by the house. MOO there was no change in Wylma's story.

She was on NG (first on camera interview ever I bet) and her statements during that interview have been picked clean more than once. The articles linked, and the thread one initial posts all support that Wylma reports seeing them last at 12:15. They all consistently say that. If anything changed in Wylma's story of when she last saw the girls it was only on NG, and I do not see it as a change. I see it more as an omission. All other reports indicated Wylma reported seeing the girls last at 12:15 p.m. July 14 and most of those reports were written PRIOR to the NG appearance.

ETA very interesting to revisit thread one BTW. I think I will continue to poke around there a bit.

As far as I can find, and I have looked til my eyes are crossed, ONLY Aunt Tammy, bless her heart, who was not there when the girls went missing, claims in the NG interview that the girls were last seen at 11:30. Wylma states they asked to and were granted permission to ride bikes at 11:30.

MOO IMO and so forth.

  • #1,819
as far as Heather's comments on the timeline of events from the 2 part interview linked upthread, absolutely no disrespect to Heather, but that interview was much later. I tend to go with the earliest interviews and news releases as I feel they have the best odds of being the most accurate in this regard.

Wylma was there helping Heather for a reason. Heather's health was poor and she needed assistance with wrangling the kids and the household apparently. So while I do not think she would be inaccurate on purpose, I tend to believe Heather was ill, tired and not the one watching the girls or aware of the times involved first hand. I believe Wylma saw the girls last around 12:15.

The existence of the surveillence video hit the news around July 25th. http://abcnews.go.com/US/missing-io...-collins-lyric/story?id=16850676#.UXLMZ7WG3dk video at link

How could all the articles from the first two days (some of which were not updated as late as the 25th) have a "revised" time of 12:15? When the articles were written containing the 12:15 time, the video surveillance was not public knowledge yet, it would not be til at least a week later. Even the updates to the original articles were made prior to the public release of the video. So Wylma changing her timeline to match up with the video timeline seem very unlikely to me.

I guess it could be argued that she knew about the video before the public, but the article above also states the person who supplied the video did not go back to look at it immediately, it was only after the girls had been missing for a bit that he thought to do so.

Wylma clearly says she last saw the girls at 11.30.

For those who think this means she saw them at 12.15 :waitasec: - why did she go looking for them only 15 minutes later? :dunno:
