The family has publicly stated, within a few days of the abduction, that they are waiting for answers. They're still waiting. Do they need to repeat that statement for people to believe that it is true?[/QUOTE]

IMO...uh, yeah they do.

They have no problems going out in public promoting fundraisers, concerts, donations...I DO expect them to at least mention somewhere along the way that they want answers and justice brought to the people who killed their daughter.

I don't know about anyone else, but there certainly doesn't seem to be too many people on this board that are convinced that this family REALLY wants to find who did this and bring them to justice.

One mention of wanting answers within days of their abduction does NOT equate to the parents continuing to pursue answers and justice.

If they have time to promote the memorial, they have time to remind and ask people to continue to come forward with any possible leads, answers, etc.

They CHOOSE the content of their PR appearances, and no mention of the pursuit of justice in all their donation requests concerns me.

Its looks like a lot of empty motion(s) for the sake of motions - which
is how some people react for lack of anything better to do. (Otherwise I
would go crazy and maybe lose it!). Lots of denial going on. Different
people have different methods for handling situations like this but a random
frantic normalcy and denial is one method. At the end of the day they are
only human and there has to be a lot going on under the surface. I wouldn't
hold them to anything they say or do at this point! These are people in need of
support; not analysis imho.

"Heather says investigators are still keeping them informed of the ongoing investigation. However, she says investigators are also being cautious about how much information they tell the family, so as not to risk releasing information which could jeopardize the investigation. For example, they would not want to leak any details which only the killer or killers would know.

Heather thanks the investigators, saying "We know they are working night and day on this and that they want this so bad. They want to catch the person who did this to our girls. They were so hoping they would find the girls alive."

I am not asking anyone to repeat a statement made in July, nor do I feel that a comment made several months ago is untrue.

But out of all the family members impacted by this horrible crime, I find it unusual that not one of has come forward to demand answers, or to indicate any dissatisfaction with how the investigation has gone to date. JMO

I find it odd too. This is where the Smock's and Collins's friendship worries me.

I think it's equally possible that the family is very thankful for the efforts of the investigative team. I don't understand why anyone would want, or expect, the family to step forward and complain about the investigation.

Haven't they said that they are thankful and appreciative of everything the police and community have done to help?

I'm going to get off this merry-go-round, it seems my words will be twisted no matter how I try to explain myself.

I will say, however, that I have heard nothing in recent months from Lyric's side of the family indicating how thankful and appreciative they are. JMO.

All I have read are appeals for money, money, money for the island monstrosity. And that just feels wrong to me. JMO, MOO, etc.

Heather is just one member of an extended family, and this comment was made five months ago. Do you have a link to any other family members recently commenting on their satisfaction with the investigation?

Do we know if the FBI is still actively participating in this investigation?

.

I share your frustration. I guess it's time to let the "experts" do it. :moo:
They will advise us when they are ready. It's a "very unique situation".
All is well!
:great:

I'm still waiting on the secret translation of body language (what was said by
not saying) of Smock etal, that was mentioned, but not promised. My phone bill
says $68.73. That's concrete! I think I will go and pay it at the Hy Vee and ponder
the 3-piece chicken dinners with noodles. All is well.

What really get's to me is why the girl's were not buried togeather . It seem's it is easier to forgive a stranger who did this horrific crime than to forgive a sister . I feel the forgiving should be fair . I can't imagine how Wylma Cook is handeling this all God bless her soul missing her beloved Grand children . I worry about and pray for all the family's . I even pray daily for my Web /Sluether's who have been involved trying to figure this all out . God Bless each and every one of you. Thank you from my heart Three Crazy Kid's, and Cindersoot for the video's that was an emotional roller coaster for both of you. Pat yourselves on your back you both did a wonderful thing for all of us. RIP Lyric & Elizabeth.

It's nice that she thanks investigators for all their work...but she ALSO says:

SBM

"I don't need to know how she was murdered. I don't need to know what anybody has done to her, because that's in God's hands. All I know is that I don't have my daughter here anymore and she is up in Heaven with our Savior. That's all I need to know."

"The more I know and the more evil I know about it; it would consume me. It would consume my mind, and I don't need that"

Heather says the whole ordeal has taken its toll on her husband. She says Drew has taken it particularly hard because, "Him, being the Dad, he is the protector of the family and he wasn't able to protect her that day," she says.

Drew and the three children have started counseling, in an effort to deal with what has happened over the past months. Heather says she has gone with Drew only once to the counseling sessions, and, is not actively taking part, "I don't go," she says, "If Drew needs me to come with him, I go with him, If he needs me to support him, I go with him."

"My thing is to just get on my knees and pray, and to read His word in The Bible. That's where I get my peace. That's where I get my strength." She says some people need to sort out why this happened and talk about that. "And, that's fine. I don't need that,' she says.

"We want people to just come away with renewed faith and feel refreshed and feel peace." Heather adds, "We're gonna have a party. She's at home with Our father in Heaven."

Every interview can be taken more than one way. I don't take everything that people say (LE or not) at face value.

Actions speak louder than words.

Based on what we know, it seems equally possible that the person responsible was a transient worker repairing the highway or a tree planter. He could be a teacher, a banker, a church member (eg: BTK). It could be anyone. Evansdale is a small town, so it's possible that the person responsible has had some contact with one member of the large, extended families of one of the victims.
I agree. Transient worker through the tree farm would be especially high on my list.

We know the names of the victims and their families, but I don't think that is a good reason to suspect that the murderer has a connection to any of those people. Knowing the names and habits of the victim's families appears to be the only reason for trying to connect the murderer to the family. If the parents were doctors and nurses, this would not be happening. The murderer would instead be recognized as such a disgusting person that he could not have any connection to the victim's families.
Respectfully, I disagree. I simply believe you are stating your opinion here. I work in the medical field and I know perverts and murderers exist in the medical profession. In any murder case, you start with those closest to the victims and work out. This would not exclude doctors or nurses. Of note, huge trial going on about 100 miles from where I live. Doctor accused of killing his wife. Many doctors accused of sexual misconduct too.

And, take a look at this guy:
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- A Cedar Falls resident who was found dead in his car last week had been scheduled to appear the following day to determine if he went to jail in connection with a federal sex trafficking case.

A passerby noticed Daron Lee Jungers, a 42-year-old occupational therapist originally from the Sioux City area, slumped in his Honda parked outside his Ashworth Drive condo Thursday morning. http://wcfcourier.com/news/local/ma...cle_de2b4794-699a-11e2-a51d-0019bb2963f4.html

The murder/abduction of Tori Stafford should serve as an awareness that parental bad habits does not mean that there is a connection between the murder and the parent.

I am not familiar with the Tori Stafford case. I will read up on it though. I am sure there is a thread here at Websleuths.

I have heard that it is mainly the FBI working on this case.
