I agree with you on this. There is nothing to suggest a struggle thus far. The bikes (when found) were up against a fence, the purse wasn't ransacked, simply laid down, and no flip flops, etc. left behind which would also indicate a resistance of some sort.

From everything I've seen so far, I believe these girls went with the perp. If LE found any sign of a struggle I don't think they would have waited a week to proclaim the girls abducted.

The fact that LE believed them to be alive and EVIDENCE that led them to that belief (that was sent to the lab), also presents a possibility that this person DID keep them alive for some length of time before depositing their bodies at the park.

I haven't seen any reason so far that leads me to believe they didn't go willingly with this person.

I agree with this, but I don't think they would have left their purse if they had gone willingly or without some type of force or coercion that enabled or caused them to leave that purse behind.

I think it would also depend how often they carried their purse with them. I remember as a kid, rarely taking a purse with me and when I did, I left a few behind after setting them down someplace because I wasn't used to carrying one. ..just a thought-

OT - Sending out prayers and positive thoughts for the Boston Marathon participants, the people who were there at the race and the families of all. Tragic! :(

128 Iowans registered in the event so far as I know. 3 of them from our circle here. It's unreal.

It is unreal. I was stunned when I turned on CNN earlier today, I had no idea what had happened. My heart is aching for Boston and its people, prayers and condolences for all those affected by this horrendous tragedy today.

I don't believe I've seen any comment about divine punishment specifically made by Heather. She talks about forgiveness, but from what I've seen she is seeking earthly punishment for her daughter's killer. JMO.

I agree with you, Marilynilpa.
From my experience, Christians are encouraged to refer vengeance to God. The Lord is their vindicator, thus they divest themselves away from the issue and trust him to the details. Of course, they are also encouraged to be humble, but I do not see much humility applied to the grandiose monstrosity.

Yay! The article came up for me! I had not seen this one either! I have seen a picture of the Collins' 4-year-old, Callie, and she is a little doll too. I haven't seen Amber. I do agree that the perp will be at the funeral. I think he attended the "Celebrations of Lives". He may have developed an infatuation with Heather.

:goodnight: all. Hubby and dog say it is bedtime! Everyone sleep tight!

:seeya: to Confusion on Boston thread!

Boots, I too have wondered if E's mom had an admirer/ stalker. Young, considered harmless maybe? :moo::blushing:

Exactly......and how does a person abduct 2 kids that easily I can see one but 2? This is why I believe they knew this person or it was all staged. JMO

Maybe they carried snacks or treats in the purse.
My kids used to carry our old sets of keys and junk like that. Priceless possessions!

And IMO I do not think I could find it within myself to forgive the person or persons responsible for killing my most beloved creation. MY CHILD!

Is it someone they know?

LOL...I wish I felt as confident as you that I would have a hand in solving this. I feel like I'm treading water, trying to keep my head afloat most days. I just wish some new info would be released to give us something new to work with. I say a little prayer every day that new evidence or a new lead brings LE one step closer to finding out who did this to these little girls. My heart just breaks every time I think about how terrifying their last moments had to be. At what point did they realize something was very very wrong? Were they terrified in their last moments? Were they already unconscious? (We could only hope). Was this person a complete stranger, or were they killed by someone they loved and trusted?

That is what drives me every day...as sad as it sounds, those last minutes of these girls lives is what brings me back here...to find out who did this.

I am doing my best to make a connection Boots...that's one thing I can assure you!

I have thought about the purse being left behind too. I just get the feeling that IF they were taken from the lake that they had put the purse down while playing, and were called away from the water into the enclosed area. Then things happened so fast they didn't have time to go back...OR were ordered to not go back for the purse.

My point in the purse left behind was simply that there was (reportedly) no OBVIOUS sign of struggle...like the strap on the purse being broken, or the purses contents ransacked.

I don't know WHY the purse was taken along for the ride in the first place...I hated carrying things on my bike...it just slowed me down. So it makes me wonder if there was something in the contents that could be a clue.

On the other hand, I can easily see it being left unattended, or even left behind in just typical 8 year old behavior. It could very easily have been used just to have a clock on hand to check the time if they were told what time they needed to be back.

I wouldn't forgive anyone who killed my child, ESPECIALLY if it was someone I knew. If they are more likely to forgive someone they know, then I'm even more concerned about the mental state of these parents. :(

Thank you! Cupcake is precious! She looks like she is as into this investigation as much the rest of us Websleuthers. She (?) is definitely checking out the bag. I wonder what scents she is smelling. Probably can't wait to play in the bag ? Did you save the bag? I know you have said this perp is a hunter from pretty much the beginning. It is an interesting find and again thank you for sharing the pic with us! :rocker:

BTW - I love your rooster pillows! Roosters/chickens are a definite theme in my kitchen and they would like nice on my sofa as well (jk).

BBM - I wondered too why the purse was brought along. If this was supposed just a quick ride, I don't think they would have been going to any store for a quick treat - they had just left a cold drink on the counter back at the Collins' house - so why bring the purse??????? The purse being there w/the cell phone that we later found out could not actually make calls was one of the things that made me think this scene was staged. :banghead:

Well, sometimes girls that age get very attached to their personal possessions, especially if having a purse and a phone (even if it wasn't good for phone calls) signified being grown up to her.

But on the whole I agree with you that it doesn't feel right and it's one of the many things that make me lean toward staging.

Thank you georger! Do you know if they have all been accounted for and are safe? Unreal is a very good descriptor. It was like being in a very bad nightmare and not being able to wake up as I watched the events unfolding...

Do you know the name of anyone who has been questioned? Because I don't. I know folks have been, LE and msm and common sense has told me so, but I wouldn't have a clue who exactly they have questioned or how many times, over the last few months. I'd love to know...!
:dunno:

So, if I am understanding what you have highlighted, LE has questioned people regarding this crime and one or even more than one of these people may be whom they are watching, but they don't have enough evidence on the person.

The public aren't aware of whom LE has questioned.

Just imo, but I think this type of information would be leaked and in my previous post, I pray if LE has someone in mind, they are watching every move they make, however, I doubt they would have the manpower for that.

No, I am not aware of whom has been questioned, however, I have lived in a city the size of Evansdale in the past and not too much gets past the locals!

Just IMO
