A massive percentage of crimes show an aspect of staging, in fact IIRC it's almost all of them.

"Staging" doesn't have to mean much, all it means is that an attempt has been made to alter the scene.

Opening a window, shutting one, taking a gun butt out of a loved one's mouth, helping yourself to a wallet or a nice watch - all considered "staging".

I think law abiding people have a hard time imagining a criminal mind, which is concerned with two things only - committing the crime, and not getting caught (which is another reason I find the spider/fly scenario impossible, it would just be too darn risky for too little reward).

You know! You're kind of starting to sway me and the FBI: Crimininal Pursuit. Immediate family is where the investigation starts. Focus is mother, father, relatives that may be pedos. Then they start looking at sex offenders. Maybe there was too much left behind. . . like otto said about just taking the bikes and all to 7-Bridges if the girls had been snatched before Meyers Lake!

I think... my problem now... with the crime scene at Meyers Lake... is too much evidence left behind... It was as if the girls had vanished, but yet here are their bikes and Elizabeth's purse...there was a trace of the girls left behind. :banghead:

Is it possible the purse was left behind because the perp(s) knew there was a cell phone in it and they feared they could be tracked/pinged/located per the cell phone??
If so, how many people knew Elizabeth had a cell phone in her purse I wonder?

This is in maiden lane area looking south at the bike trail thru the fence, notice the bottom of the fence. It's bent up so you can get thru.

I don't even think the girls took their phone or bag that day. Why would they, it wasn't even working apart from games and 911?

I believe the perp staged them, to imply a random highway abduction.

I remain aware that the family are the only ones who could identify those bikes and that particular purse and phone actually, definitively, belonged to our girls.

But, I believe that where the bikes and purse were found and then the bodies in December screams local connection. I never felt random highway abduction... but, admittedly I could be wrong. The FBI made it sound local. The focus on the family and the vehicle searches and the house searches made me think LE thought it was local too. Maybe, NNMO, but that is where the "abductor" screwed up. But, he was too scared to put the bikes any where else. Road construction going on, etc. :banghead:

Sometimes, I think the bikes may have been staged by the perp to "taunt" the family in a child-like way of sending the message "you can't catch me"!!!!

And considering the purse was simply laid down and none of the contents removed or strewn about, how would the perp have even known there was a cell phone in there to worry about in the first place?

View attachment 32211 This is what I was wanting to show you guys. This is behind the pump house in maiden lane area. This is where I think the perp parked his vehicle, and walked the girls thru maiden lane woods. Watch how open it is when there is no leaves hiding the area.

Cinder, do you think the path you walked back on was there before the bodies were found and LE etc. beat a trail down? Or couldn't you tell?

Yes! I'm getting the same kind of vibe. . . the trail was visible even from the aerial photo that day and from 3CK's videos... I just kept thinking this area was HEAVILY used by perp/perps... :moo:

Well, yeah, but some extent all wooded areas look pretty similar. It's could be the wooded area behind my house, too.
