Did Dan have access to another vehicle? Was the quad the only means of transportation he owned?
It has been rumored that Dan did have access to his girlfriends vehicle. But, according to Tammy his mom took off work and brought him to the lake, so access to another vehicle wouldn't have been necessary.
I wonder if AFTER they realized the bikes were found at the lake Dan called someone and had them bring it down maybe?
You don't have to have a license to ride a quad...HOWEVER, they are not allowed on public roads, gravel or not...
We have an acreage that is common ground for our development and the kids have been told by the police on more than one occassion that they can NOT ride the quads in the cul-de-sac OR use the road to access the acrage. They have to ride through the backyards to the back access.
My point being, nowhere in the state is it legal to ride a quad unless you are on private property or are in a designated area for quads/motorsports. There is an area in Ely/Solon area called Lakeview OHV Park that people ride...but again, it's not on public roads.
I just wonder what on earth would make him think to bring a quad.
