I have been trying to do alittle investigating into past missing child cases and cold cases in Iowa. Wish I knew where else to look, also wonder if all cold cases are reported on Iowa cold case website?

It is almost 1 year. I never thought I would still be waiting on an arrest.

I agree. I really wonder what the problem is in this case.

You probably already have these names:

Donna Sue Davis, 1, was taken from her Sioux City home and killed in 1955. Colleen Simpson, 14, vanished from her New Bedford, Iowa, home in 1960. The disappearances of Des Moines paperboys John David Gosch, Marc James-Warren Allen and Eugene Martin, all abducted in the 1980s, have never been solved.

Marc Allen. That was the one I'd never heard about until the documentary about Johnny gosch. Weird.

John Edward Robinson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"During this period, Robinson cultivated and maintained the outward appearance of a personable, community-minded citizen and family man; he became a Scoutmaster, a baseball coach, and a Sunday school teacher. In 1977 he talked his way onto the board of directors of a local charitable organization and forged a series of letters from its executive director to the mayor of Kansas City, and from the mayor to other civic leaders, commending his generous volunteer efforts and generally singing his praises. Eventually he had himself named the organization's “Man of the Year", and threw a festive awards luncheon in his own honor.[3]"

"In 2006 the body of a young woman was found in a barrel in an area of rural Iowa where Robinson reportedly had a business partner. The identity of the victim—whose remains, forensics experts say, could have been in the barrel for 20 years or more—and Robinson's possible involvement..."

Sunday school teacher, wow you just never know. I wonder who his business partner from Iowa was?

I think they just can't find a link!

Wild card No.4467: :banghead: maybe it was somebody who used to live in the area and would know it, but who has not lived in the area for some time, but who was passing through during the week in question ... and has now left the area? (posters here already mentioned construction workers)

I'm with you here georger!!!! One or two people in the area sees the girls, and says, "Hey, you girls want some fireworks? I'll give you some to play with. I have some in my truck." The abduction was in July. Just thinking out loud.

This is an interesting way to raise money:

A student senate fundraiser for the creation of Angel's Park in Evansdale memorializing murdered cousins Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook-Morrissey means one of 10 nominated West staff members will get a pie in the face. Attendees vote by putting money into one of the containers designated for each of the staff members. The staff member with the most money in the corresponding container gets a pie in the face.

Thank you for posting the link to this article Marilyn! :heartbeat: I would take a pie in the face for Lyric or Lizzie anytime! LOL! Still considering buying a commemorative brick in memory of my son!

Going on this same story, they identified the vehicle as a black Chevrolet Trailblazer with Oklahoma license plates. With computers so fast now, I would think it would be simple to ID all the possible vehicles that fit this description. Hopefully, LE has already contacted OK for assistance in identifying the owner of this vehicle.

Same link but updated.
LE found the car with the OK plates and took a person in for an "interview".

ETA = Note in the picture the little pink bicycle on the driveway beside this black suv.

Agree. I think they have a suspect and just can't gather the evidence to put all the pieces together. Ugh. Hopefully they are keeping an eye on them and something will break or slip. Hope.... If that is the case then it was planned ahead of time. imo.

Or, suspects.

I see this as having more than one perp...perhaps several, and that many again who have some sort of guilty knowledge.

It explains the delay, the silence, and a couple of cryptic statements made by LE.

High stakes in Methtown, Iowa.

We even had an attempted abduction here in SD the other day. A guy in a car pulled up to the mall and tried to pull a young woman into his vehicle. The victim got away. No one seen anything. These people are all over the place so it seems. With everybody having cellphones its too bad they didn't take a picture of the vehicle but I suppose if you're the victim you want to run away from the situation as fast as you can.

The perp(s) can be anyone, and there are a lot of people that one would never suspect as being a perp. My oldest son was molested by his teacher. The guy use to call me constantly asking me if he and his foster son could take my son with them skiing, to the movies, etc. He felt bad for me being a single parent of two children. He and his foster son use to ask me and my kids to go out for pizza with them. He spent a lot of time and money grooming my son and gaining my trust. After two years of my son thinking the world of this teacher and his foster son and spending time with them this teacher asked me if he could take my son with him and his foster son camping for the weekend and of course my son begged me to let him go. So I allowed my son to go with this teach and his foster son. They were suppose to be gone for the entire weekend but after only being gone overnight he brought my son home the next morning saying my son cried to come home. The teacher looked like someone had beat the holy crap out of him. Once the teacher left our house my son told me how this teacher tried to force himself on my son while he was asleep. My son stated that he screamed and it woke up the foster son who was in his late teens. Once the foster son realized what this teacher tried to do to my son he beat the holy crap out of this teacher. If this foster boy hadn't been there God only know what would have happened to my son. Needless to say, I filed charges against this teacher and my son never had to testify against this teacher because the foster son did it for my son. Single parents need to be leery of people who take an interest in their kids and spend money on them. It can even be a new partner that you might be dating. I was married for ten years before I filed for a divorce from my husband who I caught cheating. My husband and I had a son together, and during a visitation with our son while we were going through our divorce my soon to be ex-husband molested our 6 year old son. I never thought my ex-husband would be capable of doing something like that and like I said we were married 10 years and I never saw any signs that he was that way except the fact that he had been married several times.
