We even had an attempted abduction here in SD the other day. A guy in a car pulled up to the mall and tried to pull a young woman into his vehicle. The victim got away. No one seen anything. These people are all over the place so it seems. With everybody having cellphones its too bad they didn't take a picture of the vehicle but I suppose if you're the victim you want to run away from the situation as fast as you can.

Yeah.. it's scary! There was one in my area the other day too (Sacramento CA area). The little girl was WITH HER MOM and still was grabbed and thrown in a trunk. From the article linked below, BBM:

"The girl was walking with her mother and another sibling <snip> when a man pulled up alongside the trio in a vehicle and grabbed the child."

Thank goodness he was in a hurry and her leg was in the way of the trunk closing, or we'd probably have another "Missing" thread here on WS for this child. There was another little boy around here grabbed right in front of his Dad a few months ago too - fortunately the Dad caught up to the kidnapper before he got the struggling boy into his car, but geez. So brazen.

I know it's not directly related to this case but in a way it is. It's come up a few times that maybe the girls would've been safer if an adult were with them. Now I'm starting to wonder if THAT is even true. It's so sickening.

The perp(s) can be anyone, and there are a lot of people that one would never suspect as being a perp. My oldest son was molested by his teacher. The guy use to call me constantly asking me if he and his foster son could take my son with them skiing, to the movies, etc. He felt bad for me being a single parent of two children. He and his foster son use to ask me and my kids to go out for pizza with them. He spent a lot of time and money grooming my son and gaining my trust. After two years of my son thinking the world of this teacher and his foster son and spending time with them this teacher asked me if he could take my son with him and his foster son camping for the weekend and of course my son begged me to let him go. So I allowed my son to go with this teach and his foster son. They were suppose to be gone for the entire weekend but after only being gone overnight he brought my son home the next morning saying my son cried to come home. The teacher looked like someone had beat the holy crap out of him. Once the teacher left our house my son told me how this teacher tried to force himself on my son while he was asleep. My son stated that he screamed and it woke up the foster son who was in his late teens. Once the foster son realized what this teacher tried to do to my son he beat the holy crap out of this teacher. If this foster boy hadn't been there God only know what would have happened to my son. Needless to say, I filed charges against this teacher and my son never had to testify against this teacher because the foster son did it for my son. Single parents need to be leery of people who take an interest in their kids and spend money on them. It can even be a new partner that you might be dating. I was married for ten years before I filed for a divorce from my husband who I caught cheating. My husband and I had a son together, and during a visitation with our son while we were going through our divorce my soon to be ex-husband molested our 6 year old son. I never thought my ex-husband would be capable of doing something like that and like I said we were married 10 years and I never saw any signs that he was that way except the fact that he had been married several times.

Is this the same son who was molested both times? How is he doing today? That is very scary that you have to be suspicious of people who you think are just being friendly. Kudos to the foster son for beating the crap out of the guy!

So good to see you posting again! Thank you for an excellent reminder of people who seem to have good intentions.... may not! :heartbeat:

"Before 2009, only the names of sex offenders deemed by the State Patrol as most likely to re-offend were publicized on the Internet. Those who had committed minor offenses and were considered at low risk of re-offending -- know as Level 1 offenders -- were required to register with law enforcement agencies, but their information wasn't made public.

But Nebraska lawmakers passed a bill (LB285) that included Level 1 offenders in new reporting requirements. The state posted their photos and addresses on a website. The photos are to stay for as long as 25 years, and in some cases, for life."

Good for Nebraska, I will have to see what other states have this bill. I know this is news about Nebraska but I was wondering why Nebraska FBI was at Seven Bridges and I'm finding other interesting things.

"In 2009, ****** began to register as what is commonly referred to as a “transient” because he was frequently on the road either for his job as a truck driver or for his work providing sound, light and tour support for national bands. He was required to update his sex offender registration every 30 days."

*****failed to update his registration in May 2010 because his truck broke down in Iowa,".......wonder how many people live in other states but work in Iowa, or frequent Black Hawk County on a regular basis?

Unbelievable that they still haven't arrested anyone. The circumstances surrounding this case make it hard to believe that a SO did this - unless there was more than one. I think the girls knew who killed them, and I'm not sure it was sexual in nature.

I was slumming around Iowa Court dockets online this morning and checked the usual court cases out. I ran across Misty having a new docket (last on the list) where she just put up bond money for a career criminal out of West Union. His record beats even DM's. Meth and the rest. Doesn't really help with who murdered the girls but find it interesting. I think she's still on probation. Most restrict contact with known felons. The guy bailed out had a warrant for parole violations. New name to me. Happened just a week or so ago.

troubling. I was hoping Misty was laying low and working her program. This is concerning.

And...the bond amount posted $1000 was a secured bond, cash. I understand that to mean the full amount. hmmm

The guy has lived in Waterloo and surrounding. Not just West Union.

I wonder what happened to the person with the black SUV who was taken in for an interview? How long can they "interview" him?

I wonder where that came from.

Misty has been in rehab/hospital for most of the past few months, not working?

They're trying to raise $ for the memorial yet she chooses to bail a criminal out of jail...am I missing something?

I can't believe there's been no arrest. There is no such thing as a prefect crime......I pray these two angels one day get justice.
FOREVER RIP LYRIC AND ELIZABETH. <3
