I did some online research on geocaching at both Seven Bridges and Meyers Lake shortly after the girls' bodies were found. I recall a description of at least one at Seven Bridges and, if I recall correctly, there was also one near Meyers Lake in the wooded area beside the lake. I'm out of town for a few days and can't check, but I believe I still have some of the links saved on my old computer at home. If anyone is interested, I can post them when I return home near the end of the week.

Bumping the girls up from page 3.

I keep wondering why LE thought the girls were still alive, in spite of all statistics to the contrary. I know we have discussed this repeatedly, but I just can't understand why that statement was made. IMO, it was more than just the fact that the girls' bodies had not been found. I wish we knew what theory they were pursuing at that time!

When they made that statement, I wondered if it wasn't because they thought that the kidnapping was drug/money related or done as some sort of threat so Dan would not testify. Wasn't there also some confusion about a message on Dan's phone, something about them thinking the message was left after they went missing? Then later it was found that the message was before that. I'm not sure if I'm recalling all that correctly or not. I felt that was a really bold statement for the FBI to make.

It wasn't Dan's phone, it was Drew's.

Not sure if you are back yet, I was wondering if you were able to find those links?

Would the girls feel comfortable with a teen male who did not appear ' typically macho"?
This individual from Iowa, was arrested for alleged sex trafficking of an underage girl in Chicago.
He was also wanted in 2014 for theft..

The geocaching thing is interesting. It was a particularly popular hobby in 2012. A new iphone app had come out for geocaching, and it was getting popular.

The obvious answer to me regarding the "still alive" statements is, they thought the abduction staged.

JMO.

And as far as geocaching - they go out to collect badges not little girls!

I remember that first story. I thought it was a girl. Guess I didn't read the article vert carefully.

He is a transgender...at first I though he dressed as a girl as disguise when shoplifting....but I have heard that he does plan on having the surgery to "become" a woman. :secret:

O/t, but I need your help. My 16 year old niece is missing, along with her boyfriend. Please look at the thread for Madison Gray in the "Missing" forum. She lives in Mesquite, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.

I know bad things can happen to cute teenage girls who run away, so I am hoping my fellow WSers can help find them.

Sorry, skeet. We stayed away longer than we planned, but we're back home now. I did find my saved links, but I don't know how helpful they will be. Pages have been archived, sites now want you to join to view the site, etc. Here's what I have that's visible. I wish that I had screenshots to share of the geocaching pages. I have a gazillion screenshots but none from geocaching pages, of course.

(must be a member to view most of what I have bookmarked; I think that this is the site where I found the most information on geocaching in the area of Seven Bridges and Meyers Lake)

(has a small amount of visible info on a Meyer's Lake cache; this may be the cache located at the tank; if I recall correctly, the person who created this cache - "joestepkids" lives/lived in Evansdale)

Thanks for the info, it doesn't hurt to explore different things, collecting girls may not have been the killer's only hobby. I find it interesting that this activity connects both Myers Park and Seven Bridges.

Just want to take note of this trucker..

http://www.cp24.com/news/toronto-man-charged-in-connection-with-child-exploitation-case-1.2264234

" He was employed as a long-haul truck driver, travelling both within Ontario and into the United States as far as Arizona.

Police believe there may be more victims".

Are we talking two different people here?
The link to the composite describes the pervert as being much younger than the trucker. Father -son?
The composite man is described as white, clean-shaven and in his late 20s to early 30s. He is about six feet tall, thin, with a noticeable "pot" belly. He has short dark hair and brown eyes.
