No, LE has never said that the paddleboater came forward. When Abben was asked, at the last press conference, if their plea for the paddleboater resulted in anything that some people had come forward about the paddleboater but he never said that the actual person himself has come forward. The paddleboater has been called a "he" but that is all we have been told.

Who knows? But it is common practice for the police to TELL you they have proof if you are being interrogated. Do you ever watch the First 48 on A & E? The police are completely allowed to lie to a suspect, and they do it all the time.

Because I am old enough to know several people who have defibrillator's. I would have to say that the square that you see on Heather's chest or shoulder is a defibrillator a pace maker is not visible ( not to say she does not have one)

Chances are she is on a blood thinner and needs to be closely monitored by her cardio doctor that may explain her appointment. Generally that does not take long just a few minutes to either get a finger stick or a blood draw at a lab.. JMO

She was making the point that even if the girls have been harmed that it's o.k. to bring them back. The family has said several times that they don't care who has the girls, they just want them back. She wasn't saying she didn't CARE if the girls were hurt, she was saying something along the lines of... "we want the girls back, even if you have hurt them, don't be afraid to bring them back". MOO. It is not at all hinky to me.

I don't know if we are allowed to discuss him, but I will tell you this -- he didn't say that, his defense attorney did, and it was pure spin. If your co-defendant is supposed to also plea, and suddenly decides to go to trial and testify in a crime that involves you, you would be PISSED!!! Even if you already had a plea deal. DM's testimony could reveal all sorts of new facts that could lead to new charges. If you ran a meth lab with him, and he was going to start giving testimony to the Feds, you'd be mighty nervous. Especially if you had a rap sheet with 102 arrests on it already!

I think he either:
1) Fled to avoid going to jail -- or --
2) Was killed so he won't testify against DM in DM's upcoming trial

But I don't think he is the kidnapper. <modsnip>

I hope that people who work for the tv station and who were present during the video taping will be able to help. Someone must have remembered something they thought was suspicious and tipped LE. How else would LE know that the outtakes would be important ? Someone had to spend some time editing the interview. I hope that person has no credibility problems and is willing to tell LE what got clipped out!

My gut says they are following procedure so that the tapes aren't thrown out by a judge at trial.

Think of Casey Anthony, LE kept her pretty busy with all sorts of charges, some unrelated to her daughter (stolen checks) when she wasn't talking....

I think it is good that grandma loves the girls enough she knows they can deal with the girls being 'abused' if they just come back alive. MOO

I remember seeing video years ago after an 8 year old was rescued after 3 weeks of abuse. The family had just learned she was alive and one of the aunts was shaking the oldest female (great grandmother, IIRC) and saying "She's alive!. We'll get past the rest. She's alive." The older lady was from a generation which didn't think getting past it was possible. MOO, of course.

oh, i very much agree...just thought it should be noted in the timeline of events...

eta...i understand the possible reasons that he would flee...but im not convinced he has nothing to do with this, not yet...jmo

I'm seeing two different names in the links you posted (both with the initials JS). Are they the same guy? I guess I'm missing something.
