Do you remember the incident that occurred that was they reason the cop remembered his car? Did it involve being pulled over?

I recall hearing that story about the car, but perhaps CR was not driving it the previous time. It was not registered to him, so maybe the owner was driving it at that time. JMO

Oops sorry... just saw this! So you are not sure he was driving it. Well I guess since it didn't belong to him it could have been the owner. I just got the idea somehow that this was the car he always used.

Just reading about forensic anthropology and how it might be related. The interesting science is widely known for its study of unidentifiable human remains associated to the TV show “Bones”.

Just a guess about this case, given the autopsy results, one of their tasks will be to determine which of the multiple sharp force injuries resulted in death, direction (body position), and if a weapon wasn’t found, what might it have been. In addition any other trauma relating to the bones such as fractures. Anything else?

I believe forensic anthropologists can also determine force of any thrust and therefore strength of individual behind it, dominance of hand delivering thrust of jabs due to direction as well as direction of thrust ( from front or back).
I watched every season of Bones!

MistyWaters, I meant as blood would be found in boot, she may have already had the stab wounds, be incapacitated etc, but he states only seeing blood on head.
He doesn't want to admit, she has been placed in the boot, due to stab wounds etc that he would have caused.

Yes indeed, thinking about that, although it wasn’t recorded on the affidavid to him outrightly admitting it, he was in a way indicating that death had already occurred by the time he opened the trunk and noticed blood. Because at that point he claimed to have headed to the cornfield to hide the body.

I work as a state licensed and regulated employee for a company about 40 miles from Brooklyn and we all undergo a pretty comprehensive background check including a criminal history background check by DCI. We’ve had multiple instances over the years where a new hire makes it through all of the initial background checks and weeks later turns out to be illegal. I don’t know how they pull it off. A less regulated employer using standard background checks and verification would never have uncovered their illegal status.

They are Iowa State DVM. Even in the hinterland of the Midwest they have computers and modern stuff like that!

CR could have been using an altered, but otherwise legit Iowa DL. That might pass muster on a simple roadside stop.

I agree, but in the big scheme of things, I do not think the state of Iowa is going to go after him for no license or insurance. I believe they have enough to keep him behind bars for the rest of his life already. JMO

The state of Iowa would have prosecuted CR if he had been caught driving with no license and also for the fraudulent I.D and he would likely be deported. Mollie's murder ensures he won't be deported.

At the time of Mollie's murder, there was extreme fear of deportation (still is) because of two other Iowa cases and increased ICE enforcement. I have wondered if CR knew either of the young men or anyone caught in the ICE bust.

I would have thought the same but the news article says they checked their records by facial recognition and nothing came up. So maybe his DL if he has one is from another state. Employer said the ID he provided at time of employment was an out of state issued ID

A state issued ID isn't the same as a driver's license.

That's right. His lies are certainly getting in the way of figuring out what happened. Guess that was the whole point. I would imagine it wouldn't sound too good if he had said she was alive. That would mean he came out of his black out before he killed her.

I have always lived in California but someone stole my identity and got a Nevada drivers license in my name with their picture on it.

Maybe he used a license that was provided by whoever helped him get his SS card and it had a different picture? Someone who looked similar? I have no idea if that's possible! However, I thought he did have an altercation with police and that's how they recognized his car in the video. I wish someone else rememembered what that was. I know someone recognized the car by it's unique features, I just can't recall how.

If he had an altercation with police, wouldn’t he have an arrest record? What about an invalid drivers licence?

But the most common method, if they were able to recognize the make and model from the home security camera, is simply conducting a registration check, then tracking down the registered owner. Doubtful there’s 100s of Chevy Malibu’s in and around Brooklyn.

If the registered owner was the farm, then who drives it would point in the direction of CR.

I haven't been pulled over in 10 years, and I drive daily.

I just could only think of a drivers license as form of identification.( As well as a SS card and passport.) I guess I have never seen a state issued form of identification. (My phone won't let me abbreviate it!) I suppose one would need it if they dont have a license. Obviously he couldn't use a passport!
