Found Deceased IA - Xavior Harrelson, 10, neighbor reported X missing, Montezuma, 27 May 2021 #2

Body found in Poweshiek County field identified as Xavior Harrelson's

The Iowa Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed that a body found in a rural field Sept. 30 is that of Xavior Harrelson, an 11-year-old Montezuma boy missing since May 27.

The Poweshiek County Sheriff's Office announced the finding in a posting on its Facebook page Friday night. It said it was not immediately releasing the cause of his death.

By SO saying that they are not immediately releasing the cause of death, I hope that means that they were able to determine the cause. It sounds like they know, but are just not able to release it yet. I was worried that they might not be able to due to the length of time that had passed before he was found. One thing for sure, he didn't walk to that field.

Mitch Mortvedt, assistant director of the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation, said Xavior's death was being investigated as suspicious.

I'm hoping the cause of death is announced in conjunction with the announcement of an arrest of the individual(s) that caused Xavior to be recovered in a soybean field a few miles away from his home.

I don't think this was a random attack and more than anything I want the children of Poweshiek County to go to sleep and not fear they will disappear from their homes overnight. MOO

Rest peacefully, little guy. :(

At this point I’m starting to wonder if it makes sense to consider Xavior might have gotten into that field on his own. I don’t think it’s feasible that he could have wandered over from the trailer park, but it would make sense if he found himself dropped off in the middle of nowhere. And that spot, even by rural Iowa standards, is the middle of nowhere.

It’s too late for that. Fair disclosure, I’m from a neighboring county, but fear has spread throughout all the rural communities and the signs of that are impossible to ignore. This ain’t Mayberry and maybe it was naive to assume it ever was.

What 10 year old wouldn’t at least stay by the road? There are half a dozen houses within a mile of where his body was found.

I’m fully in the he was murdered and dumped camp.
