At this point I’m starting to wonder if it makes sense to consider Xavior might have gotten into that field on his own. I don’t think it’s feasible that he could have wandered over from the trailer park, but it would make sense if he found himself dropped off in the middle of nowhere. And that spot, even by rural Iowa standards, is the middle of nowhere.

According to XH's mother, due to his inherited disability, it would be physically difficult for XH to get himself to any distant location on his own. He disappeared without his walking stick or bicycle.

Just learned that Xavior's remains have been identified. Reading this thread cuts through my heart. Poor, poor little boy. It is imperative this child's death be fully investigated.

What a struggle it has become to keep feelings of pain over missing and mysteriously dead children under control.

We agree that he couldn’t (or at least most certainly wouldn’t) walk there from the trailer park.

If he would have left on his own, he would have been on the bike. Like he always was! He didn't get there on his own. I'm certain of that. This is evil at work.

Again, I am not suggesting Xavior left on his own.

Now that he’s been located, I am sick to my guts trying to arrive at a theory as to how Xavior got left in the bean field without the involvement of those closest to him. :(

Gut-wrenching. I can’t believe this awesome little guy is really gone.
Swift and hard justice, please. Heartbroken :(

I am leaning towards 2 possible scenarios.

1---- no one really did hear him walk out of the trailer that day. Something happened very close to home and someone was called to help with the disposal, and the cover up calls began.

2----He was angry after the previous night's argument so he called someone to come pick him up so he could get a break from home strife. He called the wrong person who didn't end up being a trusted friend at all. :('

I know that it is 'possible' that he just walked off by himself but it doesn't seem probable, imo.

My problem with him leaving on his own, is that kids who get upset and leave home are usually back in a few days, tired, broke, and hungry. They don’t end up in a field dead.

I agree with you!
He would have been found if he was walking And mobile! I think he he was dead when placed there!

Hiding a body in a bean field in May would only make sense to somebody that’s never seen a bean field in May. At the end of May the plants are only a couple inches tall.

Do we know for sure that his body was actually out in the bean field or was it in the ditch beside the field?

Or it would make some sense to someone familiar with farming. Knowing the beans were planted and growing may tell somebody no one would be back to that field for several months (as that is exactly what happened here).

Most farmers do actually drive around the edges of their fields regularly though, especially in the weeks after the plants have sprouted. That’s why I think maybe X’s remains could have been further in the field, anywhere near the edge would likely have been discovered a long time ago - especially with such a focus on searching.

I’m a bit perplexed that air searches didn’t spot this location, anything in a bean field would have been clearly visible from the air for a month or more.
